Microsoft’s Copilot app is now available for iOS and Android devices
Microsoft continues to expand its AI offering with the introduction of the Copilot app, which is now available on the Google Play Store for Android users and the Apple Store for iOS devices. This app leverages the latest OpenAI models, including the GPT-4, providing a conversational AI experience. Unlike the cluttered Bing app, Copilot focuses only on OpenAI models for efficient responses.

Users can engage with the AI through typing, speaking, or image uploads. While basic chat functionality is accessible without logging in, additional features are unlocked by creating an account and signing in. Even though the GPT-4 model is slower, it promises improved results. This app allows users to rate AI replies and easily copy responses to the clipboard for external use.
Copilot handles text queries and integrates Dall-E 3, OpenAI’s image generator. Users can request four 1024×1024 images directly from the app. Although this Copilot lacks the system control capabilities of its Windows counterpart, it shows Microsoft’s dominance in generative AI for mobile platforms.
In contrast to Microsoft’s past position of playing catch-up in the tech industry, Copilot places the company ahead in the current generative AI trend. While the Android app doesn’t interact with the OS as extensively as the Windows version, its focus on text and image generation differs it from other Microsoft chatbots.
