BitLocker bug blocks Settings on Windows 11

Windows 11 users often rely on BitLocker, a built-in security feature, to keep their files and personal data safe. Since it’s typically enabled by default, it provides an extra layer of protection by ensuring only the rightful owner can access their information.

Unfortunately, a newly discovered bug is causing trouble for users trying to tweak BitLocker settings. Instead of allowing changes, the system displays an error message: “For your security, some settings are managed by your administrator.” While this alert is usually reserved for corporate devices under IT management, it’s also popping up on personal systems.

Microsoft has confirmed the issue, explaining that it primarily affects unmanaged PCs equipped with the Trusted Platform Module (TPM). TPM is a hardware component that enhances encryption and security, and since it’s a requirement for Windows 11, this bug is likely impacting many devices.

As of now, there’s no fix or workaround available. Users must wait for Microsoft to address the problem and release a patch. Until then, you won’t be able to adjust BitLocker settings or decrypt drives protected by it.
