Commodore 64 returns loaded with games
Once upon a time, when I was a kid, there was a Commodore 64, the best selling home PC of all time.
Now, after 35 years Commodore 64 has been rebuilt and will be released under the name THEC64 Mini. It is a fully licensed product from Retro Games Ltd and will be distributed by Koch Media.
THEC64 Mini will be half of the size of the original Commodore 64. Unlike the original Commodore 64, THEC64 Mini will come equipped with high-definition output via HDMI, a classic style joystick and 64 built-in games including many classic titles. It will also feature built-in keyboard, two USB ports that you will be able to use for software updates via USB flash drive.
“We are delighted to bring to retail THEC64 mini and let both original fans of the machine, and all-new generations of games players, discover this amazing system, as well as maybe even have a go at programming it for themselves!”, said Paul Andrews, Retro Games’ Managing Director.
The C64 still has many nostalgic fans around the world including myself that will surely grab THEC64 Mini once it gets released.
Retro Games is also planning to release a full-sized version of Commodore 64 in the fourth quarter of 2018.
