Many Dell laptops will soon be updated with the latest generation of Intel (Kaby Lake) processors. The first Dell models that will be upgraded with the new quad core processors are XPS 13 laptops. They will receive a new quad core chips running at 1.6GHz to 3.4GHz (i5) and 1.8GHz to 4Ghz (i7).
A new XPS 13 laptops won’t become available until September and while there’s still no final pricing information, new laptops shouldn’t cost more than current models, that is around $1,350,00.
Along with updated XPS 13 laptops, Dell will also update it’s low-end Inspiron line laptops which include both 13 and 15-inch models of Inspiron 5000 and 7000. 17-inch Inspiron 7000 is also planned to get the new Intel processor.
Inspiron laptops should also keep their prices with this update, that means somewhere between $799 and $949. Its worth mentioning that the Inspiron 5000 (2in1) will also get an active stylus pen option which should be available on October 3rd.
Separately, Dell has announced its Visor mixed-reality headset, specially made for Microsoft’s Windows MIxed Reality platform to become available on October, for a price of $349.99. For this price, you will get only a headset. For additional $100,00 you will get a bundle that includes a headset with two controllers.
