Many users have reported color issues on their HDR displays after the upgrade to Windows 11. This issue impacts applications that are using Win32 APIS to render colors under specific conditions.
This can result in bad color rendering on certain HDR displays.
Microsoft has confirmed this issue and said that Windows 11 has some difficulties with rare color profiles that might affect HDR displays. This might result in a poorly display of white colors that could be displayed in bright yellow or other colors when using image editing applications.
It’s worth mentioning that not all color profile management programs are affected since the color profile options available on the Windows 11 Settings page and Microsoft Color Control Panel is functioning properly.
Microsoft also said that they are working on a solution and that the fix should be expected in January.
