Microsoft Edge will show you how difficult it is to crack your password
In our recent article, we wrote about Microsoft working on a complete overhaul of its Edge web browser.
Along with the new GUI we can expect a ton of new features that should ensure a better browsing experience in a more secure browser. To stay secure, complex passwords should always be used; if that’s too difficult for you, Microsoft plans to help you out.
A new feature Microsoft is working on will display the level of difficulty to crack your password as you type it in the Edge browser. Some websites already offer password complexity indicators, but now Edge will have a password strength indicator built-in within the browser itself. This will ensure that your new password is complex enough so bad actors can’t easily crack it.
Edge’s password indicator will show you three difficulty levels including Weak, Moderate, and Difficult where you should continuously pursue setting the Difficult password. Along with password strength detection, Edge will make a password suggestion that you may or may not use, depending on your preference.
The in-built password strength indicator is currently being tested with Edge Dev and Canary channel Insiders.
