Microsoft is currently reworking its password manager for the Edge web browser, as indicated by Twitter or X user Leopeva64. This upgraded password manager will come equipped with the capability to attach notes to passwords, a functionality that Chrome has already offered for some time now. The exact release date for the updated Edge password manager remains uncertain. Anyway, the fact that Microsoft is actively working on it is a promising development for users seeking a more robust and secure password management solution.

The option to add notes to passwords will be available in the revamped password manager, this option has been available in Chrome for quite some time and is finally coming to Edge:https://t.co/i4SQhUix6I

Leopeva64 shared on Twitter that Microsoft is giving the password management feature in Microsoft Edge a facelift, bringing it more closely to Chrome’s similar feature. This fresh design will empower users to add and edit notes for their passwords directly within Edge’s password management interface.

Furthermore, Leopeva64 noted that Microsoft is also updating the password manager on the Wallet page. However, this new design refrains from displaying passwords and leaves the ellipsis menu non-functional. The same user also hinted at the arrival of ‘On-Device Encryption’ for Microsoft Edge on Android.

The introduction of the ability to attach notes to passwords represents a valuable improvement. This feature enables users to include supplementary password details, such as the associated website or the creation date, thus improving password organization and security.

These upcoming enhancements will make Edge a more appealing choice for users seeking a secure and user-friendly password management solution.
