The freshly updated AI Bing search engine, now powered with AI got considerable media coverage and interest even though there seems to be no major growth in its search engine market share.

One of the possible ways for Microsoft to increase Bing’s search market share is to become the default search provider for Mozilla’s popular Firefox browser.

According to various sources on the web, Microsoft’s Bing team is currently looking to secure a contract with Firefox which is due for renewal later this year. Currently, Mozilla is receiving a percentage of the advertising revenue generated by Google, however, Microsoft’s advertisement earnings are lesser so Microsoft will have to modify the arrangement to be competitive with Google.

Additionally, Apple’s Safari browser contract with Google is scheduled for termination next year, so Microsoft could already be considering leveraging this opportunity by Bing Search becoming the primary search engine on iPhone and iPad devices.

Even though Google has a significant market presence, this change could potentially foster greater competition and drive innovation in the tech industry. If Microsoft’s partnership with Mozilla leads to a slight rise in the market share, both companies could benefit from this contract.

Microsoft is also continuously updating and improved its AI-based chatbot search since its launch. This is clearly seen in Microsoft’s fast response to user requests regarding the AI chatbot.
