Microsoft rolls out new Windows 11 Insider builds
Microsoft has introduced new Windows 11 Insider builds with key improvements across different testing channels. Canary Channel users can now install Build 27802. Beta Channel users will receive either Build 22635 5015 or Build 26120 3360, depending on their update settings for Windows 11 version 24H2. Dev Channel users also have access to Build 26120 3360.
Task Manager CPU Usage Gets a Fix
If you have ever compared CPU usage in Task Manager across different tabs, you may have noticed inconsistent numbers. This happens because different sections of the Task Manager use different calculation methods.
With Build 26120 3360, Microsoft is addressing this issue by standardizing CPU usage calculations across Processes Performance and Users tabs to match industry standards. For those who prefer the old method, a new optional CPU Utility column in the Details tab will display the previous calculation method. This update will make monitoring CPU performance more accurate and consistent.
Easier Emoji Access in Windows 11
Microsoft is also testing a new system tray icon that provides quick access to the emoji panel. While the Windows plus period shortcut has existed for a while, not everyone knows about it. This new feature will allow users to easily insert emojis, GIFs, and special characters with a simple click.
