Microsoft Teams finally adds customizable notification feature
Since its launch in 2017, Microsoft Teams has become a go-to platform for millions of users worldwide. However, despite its popularity, some basic features that seem like they should have been there from the start have been missing. One such feature is finally being addressed—Microsoft is now testing a way for users to decide where notifications appear on their PCs.
The Teams development team is known for its frequent updates, regularly adding features, and improving the app. While AI-powered tools often take the spotlight, Microsoft also makes significant interface improvements. For instance, a major update not long ago completely reorganized how chats, channels, and teams are displayed, making navigation much easier.
In a recent blog post, Microsoft explained the benefits of customizable notification placement:
- Moving notifications to less distracting parts of the screen helps you stay on task without interruptions.
- Notifications in convenient spots keep you informed without breaking your workflow, improving productivity.
- You can choose where notifications appear to create a workspace that feels natural and efficient.
Windows users enrolled in Teams Public Preview or Microsoft 365 Targeted Release can now test this new functionality.
