Microsoft Teams will soon get one of the worst Windows 11 features
Even though Cortana is not available for mobile phones anymore, Microsoft’s digital assistant is still very much present in Windows 11 and will soon be introduced in Microsoft Teams. Very much similar to Google Assistant, Apple’s Siri, Amazon’s Alexa, Microsoft’s Cortana can be used to search the web, set reminders, start calls, send messages, etc.
According to some news posted on Microsoft 365 Roadmap, Cortana will be soon enabled on a newly imaged Microsoft Teams Rooms solutions. In other words, Teams users will now be able to use voice commands for various actions on their Teams Rooms devices including starting chats, video calls, change settings, etc.
Along with this update, Microsoft has also updated Cortana icons that will appear on the room display and in the console user interface. Microsoft said that it will also add support for additional languages to Cortana. Currently only English language is supported. While many users will find voice assistance in Teams useful, other might find a robotic voice assistant distracting during their business calls. Luckily, IT administrators will be able to disable this feature company-wide.
