Microsoft to continue support for Chromium-Edge on Windows 7
There is some good news coming from Microsoft for Windows 7 and Chromium-Edge fans!
The company confirmed that they will support Chromium-Edge on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 until July 15, 2021. Even though you’ll be protected while surfing the Web, Microsoft still recommends upgrading to Windows 10 in order to stay protected from system risks.
We seriously doubt that Microsoft would do this if Google hasn’t promised the same back in January 2020. Google has announced support for its popular Chrome browser on Windows 7 until July 2021.
There’s a small catch for IE mode users. If you still have devices with the need to use IE mode on the new Edge browser, these devices require Extended Security Updates for Windows 7. Without it, IE mode functionality will be vulnerable to security risks and might stop working completely.
