Microsoft to end Xbox Ambassadors program after 13 years
Microsoft has decided to shut down its Xbox Ambassadors program after 13 years. The program, known for rewarding gamers and building a strong community, will officially end on October 15, 2024. This change has surprised many, but Microsoft explained they are moving toward new ways to engage with players.
In a recent announcement, Microsoft said they focus more on programs like Xbox Insider and FanFest, which have become more popular with players. According to the Xbox team, these programs give players better ways to connect and share the company’s values of having fun and creating an inclusive environment.
Even though the Ambassador Quests are ending, gamers can still stay involved with Xbox through other initiatives like Xbox Research and the Xbox Community Pledge. Additionally, Microsoft is introducing something new called Community Champions to keep supporting an inclusive gaming space.
As a final thank you, players who completed at least one Ambassador Quest between July 1 and September 18, 2024, will receive a free one-month Xbox Game Pass Ultimate code. They can claim it on the program’s My Rewards page until October 15.
While the Xbox Ambassadors program is closing, Microsoft is committed to finding new ways to keep players connected and engaged in its growing gaming community.
