We now have a clearer picture of how Microsoft’s Automatic Super Resolution (Auto SR) feature will improve gaming frame rates on Windows 11, and which games will support it first. According to a discovery by VideoCardz in Microsoft’s support database, there are specific requirements for Auto SR and a list of games that will be fully compatible with this technology.

Auto SR is an upscaling technology powered by AI. It allows a game to run at a lower resolution and then upscale it to a higher resolution, maintaining almost native image quality while boosting frame rates. To use Auto SR, you need a Copilot+ PC and a Snapdragon X processor, an ARM-based chip that will be featured in laptops launching next month. Additionally, you will need Windows 11 version 24H2, which will be released alongside these AI-driven PCs.

The first set of games verified by Microsoft to support Auto SR include 7 Days to Die, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2, BeamNG Drive, Control, God of War, Borderlands 3, Dark Souls 3, Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Resident Evil 2 & 3.
