PDF Redactor software review
In our everyday work with PDF files, we might encounter some PDF files that contain sensitive information and for that reason can’t be safely distributed to the public. Sensitive information in PDF files might include personal or company names, credit card numbers, payment information, or other confidential data that can’t be shared with others.
For these situations, we can use the PDF Redactor app to blackout or delete sensitive contents of the PDF files including text and images. It’s worth mentioning that not only the blacked-out content cannot be viewed but it also won’t be found when using the text search function, meaning that sensitive data was completely removed from the document.
While PDF Redactor also allows you to completely delete the selected text and graphics from the PDF file and cover the original area it also allows you to add your own text and/or images. Once we click on the Redact icon from the top menu we are presented with a pop-up containing useful instructions for using this action.
Once the text for redaction has been marked, the PDF file should be saved in order to complete the action. Be careful with this action and use Save As if you still need the original document. In addition to the default black color used for redaction, other colors can also be used to cover these sensitive content areas.
PDF Redactor also allows you to add your own text using any of the available fonts installed in the system or add images that can be moved and resized in the document. And while the Pro version of PDF Redactor normally costs $29.95, Pro License can now be activated for free until Feb 15, 2022. PDF Redactor can be downloaded from HERE.
