According to the latest rumors Microsoft is planning to unveil the next generation of Windows operating system in late 2024, with a strong emphasis on delivering an AI-powered user experience. Along with this, Windows 11 users can expect another update marked as “Moment,” set to be released in February 2025.
Unlike the substantial 23H2 update launched in October and some of the previous “Moment” updates, the upcoming Windows 11 feature drop won’t bring many huge features or significant changes. Instead, users can expect a series of minor additions, improvements, and adjustments designed to align the operating system with the Digital Markets Act.
The upcoming Windows 11 “Moment 5” update should enhance widgets, including the highly anticipated ability to hide the newsfeed. Along with that, the new update will bring accessibility and sharing improvements, additional features for Windows 365 integration, and updates for inbox apps including a character counter for Notepad and a new section in the Microsoft Store. For users in the European Union, Moment 5 will simplify the process of uninstalling Microsoft Edge with just a few clicks.
It’s important to say that you don’t have to wait for the “Moment 5” update to access its new features. The updated Widgets Board can already be installed with the option to disable the news. There’s also a method to uninstall Microsoft Edge, even for users outside the European Union.
Please keep in mind that these are just rumors as officially announced plans could still be different.
