Even though IE 7 is just days from going gold, there are still a number of Web sites and applications out there that don't work right with it. Microsoft identifies these sites as "problematic" and in need of updating (a characterization that doesn't endear the Softies to some of the more standards-compliant site owners out there, who say it's IE 7 that is breaking their wares, and not vice versa). Blame aside, what can users do who still need IE 6 to view certain sites and apps, but are unable to run it simultaneously with IE 7 on their systems, given that IE 7 overwrites IE 6? Microsoft's User Agent String Utility Version 2 may be just the ticket. The applet temporari…

I liked Internet Explorer 7 when it reached beta2 stage, and I like it now but while browsing some pages that I need to visit frequently IE keeps poping this annoying message shown in the att picture. :axehead: Whatever I do, alter the security setings, disable pop-up blocker or even hit the sucker in the wall, I'll still get this message, and after every click on the link I have to click on the yellow tab to enable the blocked content.. :suicide_anim: Does anyone know how to turn this "feature" off or should I use Firefox ? :crying_anim02:

I have updated Windows Live Messenger yesterday and now have slight problems with it.. When using tabbed chats, after the contact changes status I loose it's name and instead of s name I see the number 1 on the tab. Yes, you guessed it, I'm using Messenger Plus add-on.. I tried to reinstall Messenger Plus after updating messenger, but still have the same problem. Has anyone else this problem or it's just me?

After installation of SP1 and SP2 on the SMS 2003 server you may get the following error while using Web Reports: Server object error 'ASP 0178 : 80070005' Server.CreateObject Access Error /SmsReporting_CS0/ReportsNav.asp, line 1055 The call to Server.CreateObject failed while checking permissions. Access is denied to this object. Only Administrators won't get this error, unlike for every other user which has permissions for accessing SMS Reports. So if you upgraded your reporting point to Windows Server 2003 SP1 or 2, you must reset the COM permissions so that the SMS Reporting Users Group has Local Launch permissions as it did prior to SP1 or SP2, as shown in the f…

RSS autodiscovery The "Web Feeds" button in IE 7 for Windows XP and in Windows Vista is designed to "light up" when the web page the user is viewing has an associated web feed. Overview: In order to tell IE (and other browsers, for that matter), that your page has an associated web feed, you need to add a link element inside the header of your web page. <html> <head> <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" title="your feed title here" href="http://www.company.com/feedurl.rss">; </head> <body> ... Put the title of your feed in the title attribute and the URL to the feed itself in the href attribute. And, you're done. Now, wh…
