  3. So, what do you guys use, or think which is the best defragmentation software to use? I've put only 3 choices since those three are most known on the net. I'd also like to know your experiences, so write a few words on this topic. If I need to add any additional defragmenter to the poll choices, please let me know.

Hello: OK guys here goes, I just wanted to start this topic (again!) just to let you know that if you have any old PC parts you don't use anymore and are probably headed to the trash or PC Recycler that you would consider donating them my way PC parts are expensive in my country I can always use them for instance: I am trying to fix my moms PC that died a few days ago (needs a mobo for a athlonxp) so anything you may have (literally anything) I am sure I could put it to good use Ricardo Off-Topic Comment(Click to Show) I have many to thank on this forum already for donating parts to me before that helped me build a PC and upgrade my old one (the one that no longer works…

OpenID login methond has been removed from WinCert.net for the reasons mentioned in post on robrohan.com web site: This blog has been having some serious uptime problems, but with our move and starting our new jobs, I haven't had time to look into the problem. At completely random times the server would just spin out of control as if it was under a denial of service attack. I figured it was just someone's home made, badly written spider, and it would just stop – but it kept happening. Finally, I got a chance to sit down and see what might be going on with the box, and it looks like someone – well, several people, actually a lot of people – were using the OpenID plugin on …

I just recently got a battery for my laptop (free) and I've noticed that it doesn't last nearly as long as my 3000 MaH battery for this laptop (I get about 3 - 3.5 hours depending on usage out of it). This new battery is 3800MaH and should last about 3.5 - 4 hours based on how much more capacity the battery has right? Wrong, this battery only lasts for about an hour and a half. Now, I have decided to recalibrate the battery. That means, turning off all power management options and running the computer untill it just shuts off, not suspends or hibernates as this defeats the purpose. I have done that with this battery once already and got an hour and a half out of it (it wa…

Hi old friends! Hope everyone is fine!? I can't remember the last time I actually posted here! So what has everyone been doing with themselves now days? I've been up to a lot; I'm now a Reprographics (Photocopier) Engineer and I'm currently studying for an MCSE Windows 2012 R2 Server Infrastructure certification to get me in the software side of the machines and to open up the future for me a tad more! Aside from work and family, I keep myself busy with Airsoft (in case you don't know what it is, it's exactly like paintball but with plastic 6mm BB bullets/pellets and more teamwork than run and gun style haha) I'll post a few pics of my guns if you want …

I have applied there several time in the 3 years I have been unemployed so I really hope I can get in. If I get in, I will be most likely selling my PC to get a car so I can get back and forth.

  13. INTRODUCTION This article discusses the Change Analysis Diagnostic tool for Microsoft Windows XP. This tool provides an easy way to track changes to certain parts of the operating system. The tool lets support professionals better understand the modifications to users' computers that may have caused problems. Support professionals can then suggest troubleshooting steps. MORE INFORMATION As computer programs grow more complex, extensible, and connected, users have more trouble understanding what makes their computers behave differently. Network connectivity lets computers download programs automatically. Then, the computers can install the programs automatically. Because o…

How long will Microsoft support XP? A Good Reason To Be Sure You Update To SP2 I've seen many posts on the Internet by users who still refuse to update to SP2, for whatever reasons--even at this late date of its release. They should know about this... How long will Microsoft support XP? Windows XP has been extremely successful; market research firm IDC estimates that Windows XP (Home and Pro) had a worldwide installed base of 538 million copies at the end of 2006. (Wow!) As long as those XP computers are functional and perform well, users find it difficult to justify the purchase of Vista or a new Vista-based PC. Microsoft Corp.'s support policies reflect this reality. Th…

  18. I work from home. I have Windows 7 on my PC, still with its birth OEM key. This system is loaded with my software and packages, and for continuity it is essential that it is not compromised, including W7 and Office possibly becoming deactivated. I have also just installed W7 on a new SSD drive, with the aim of upgrading that to W10 and dual-booting while I make the transition. For speed I told the installer I did not have a key, but W7 activated fine. I am now paranoid that it has somehow picked up my main OEM key from the BIOS - and that when I upgrade to W10, I will lose activation of my main system. Can anyone clarify and/or advise? Thanks!

@adminxp do you really have to always use offencive language and insult peole? :g: All youre posts are extremely rude and demanding... I also remove lots of stuff from Windows begginning from XP era, and never had a problem. Theres a catch thought, I only remove things that I never use or even need... also you cannot do such customizations to others, because youll never really know, what they gonna use tommorrow. Also knowledge is the key, you have to exactly know what depends from what so you dont break anything. Its mostly trial and error first, because Microsoft official documentation is sometimes really poor... Sometimes you gonna think, that even they dont know, how…
