  1. Hard to decide, all three desktops rule, but I'll go with VastoLorde this time. :thumb_yello:
  2. Thx dexter for registering and clearing this out :thumb_yello:
  3. I won't remove it until someone proves that this will make damage to your computer by installing trojan.
  4. NoRCoTI (No Right-Click on Tray Icon) disables to right-click on a specific tray icon. Usage: ------ Place a 16x16 icon of the program in the current working directory. Press Ctrl+Alt+Shift+T if you want to exit NoRCoTI. Working: -------- NoRCoTI does not have any user interface. If it cannot find the icon in its path, then it'll present a file open dialog box and will copy the icon to the working directory. To check if NoRCoTI is working properly, move your mouse over the tray icon of the program you specified. The scroll-lock light on the keyboard should turn on. It will turn off as soon as the mouse is moved away from the tray icon. Tips for extracting the 16x16 icon: ----------------------------------- Open the main EXE file of the program you want to protect using an icon editing program like IconWorkshop or Icon Sushi (freeware). If a 16x16 icon isn't present in the EXE, then you'll need to resize any larger icon to 16x16 and save it. Only extract that 16x16 icon which has the highest colors (ie choose WinXP or 32 bit over 24/16/8/4 bits) Credits: -------- Thanks to nodiague for the original idea for making this program! 6. Well, whatever, I've decided to return to XP after a lot of Vista time. Main problems: Vista is very slow on my P4 3,2 GHZ, 1GB, GF 6600GT machine. I can't install drivers for my Sound Blaster Card ( Creative Live 24bit) even though I've downloaded Vista drivers from manufacturers web site. I don't have printer drivers for my HP 1018 LaserJet Printer, although I managed to install it with generic driver so it can work at all. But if you want to print something, you have to send it two times to the printer. Sidebar Gadget RSS reader, IMHO most buggy of all, when in use, the sidebar is constantly freezing. Powerware UPS device - it has an awesome software which still isn't supported on Vista. MSI Starcam 370i - I've managed to run it on Vista but since it's using lousy drivers, the result is a lousy picture. And last but not least, UT 2004, I haven't played it in a while since NVidia drivers suck on Vista and UT2004 performance was obsolete. Anyway, this reasons were more then enough to return to good ol' XP :thumb_yello: Edit: MSI has released drivers for Windows Vista and they're double in size compared with XP drivers

  12. Well, you shouldn't loose your data, here's how it works: Windows XP periodically records a snapshot of your computer. These snapshots are called restore points. Windows XP also creates restore points at the time of significant system events (such as when an application or driver is installed) or you can create and name your own restore points at any time. If you've installed a program that has made your computer unstable, you can open system restore, choose a restore point, and return your computer to its previous stable state. When you run System Restore, a calendar is displayed to help you find restore points. If you don't use your computer every day, some days might not have any restore points. If you use your computer frequently, you might have restore points almost every day, and some days might have several restore points. Use System Restore to undo changes you've made to your computer. Before you open the System Restore console, you may want to save your work and close all programs since System Restore requires you to restart your computer. There are two ways to access System Restore, through Help and Support or through your All Programs folder. BTW, anyway you can backup your important data, just to be sure.. :sweatingbullets:

  21. I can confirm that UT2004 is unplayable on Vista, but you can partly blame a lousy drivers for NVidia cards.
  22. Unfortunatelly I don't have that no more since I had a computer crash without a backup :crying_anim02: This post originally was from Cro-man. Maybe he'll manage to find that somewhere on his disks.. :confused02:
  23. Link fixed, in the meanwhile a new version was released. :thumb_yello:
  24. Obviously we have a big problem here, we'll fix this when cro-man appears online. We avoid to upload stuff on free hosting sites, but those are old posts and links should be fixed soon. Sorry for this :sweatingbullets:
