For a start try to run a repair of the disk with Windows Tools. Right click on the drive and select properties, choose 'tools' tab. Click on the Check Now at Error checking part. If that won't work, you can try Easeus recovery tools.. I've done a review for them sometime ago and their apps are very good. Also, try to use Get Data Back for FAT or NTFS, depends on what you need. Drive Rescue is another free app which should help.

Open case has a larger cooler which supposed to be more silent. Also, cooler on the open case can be easily changed, but not on the closed case. Those are the reasons why I've bought open case..

Yeah, forgot to tell you. I am using Corsair HX 650W modular PSU. You can't go wrong with that one.

The new rig is running fine, although I have to say that I haven't noticed improvement over my previous configuration based on Intel Q6600 and 4GB of XMS2 RAM. You can stick with the Dominator as the prices have gone down since I bought my machine, but IMO you would also be satisfied with XMS3 if you want to save a few bucks.

I have the same MBO, CPU and Graphic card. All I can say, go for it! I also bought Corsair, but cheaper XMS3, since I don't plan to overclock.
