  1. Dear visitors, we are informing you about some upcoming scheduledmaintenance. We are going to be taking our server down for some time toreplace failed disks and preform a few diagnostics regarding our issues we've been experiencing lately. We will be starting this at approximately 20:00 CST and expect the server tobe offline until approximately 21:00 CST. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
  2. Well, recently my Logitech MX Revolution gone berserk too. I've replaced it with a cheaper Logitech mouse which doesn't use rechargeable battery.
  3. Yes, as always, this turbo-mambo-jumbo mouses are always expensive, but most of the times, those mouses don't bring anything new to justify the high price.

    Server upgrade!

Our host is still investigating cause of the high load issue. I don't that we're causing this issues, but if we do, then we'd have to move to a stronger and possibly a dedicated server. As for these messages, I've decided to limit the forum usage when the server load jumps to 10.0 I know it is frustrating, but you have to be patient. Regards
  6. We did have small issues with the board software. For instance, sometimes when I've hit the link 'mark board as read', I've got an error. This problem could be also related to your issues. I've applied the patch. Please check if everything is ok at your side now.

    Server upgrade!

Yes Rick, You can check the server load at the bottom of each forum page. I seriously doubt that our account is the cause of this, but they've been pushing us to a stronger server for some time now.
  8. Dear members and guests. Once again, we are asked to upgrade our server package, since SDX or semi-dedicated server is not adequate for our needs. So, in the following days, expect to see the forum offline. Once your DNS propagation finishes, you will our forum back online with full availability. This change should speed up the whole site, and give us a better experience in using our forums more efficiently . However, this upgrade will raise the hosting expenses to $90/month, which is a big hit towards our hosting budget. We kindly ask everyone who can donate, to help us in any way you can. We really appreciate any donations received. Please follow the link below to choose your subscription package and help our community stay online. http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?app=subscriptions For custom donation amounts please send me a PM. Thanks for understanding. We wish you a Happy New Year. WinCert.net Administration Team
  9. What are you using for system protection. Which Anti-Virus or/and firewall? For instance NOD32 has the option to block some sites if I remember correctly.
  10. Happy New Year to all of you!
  11. You can fix this issue in two ways. Try booth, see which will work better for you. You can install Icon Restorer application, which is a third party program for Windows, which should fix the desktop layout and positions of your desktop iconsl. IconRestorer supports XP, Vista and Windows 7 and it works with 32 bit and 64 bit operating systems. It also supports dual monitors. If you'll need help with it, check the how-to topic in the link below: Read more: http://www.troublefi.../#ixzz0bFKss6TX You can also try with messing the registry: Run registry editor Run | Regedit | Enter In the right pane find a DWORD value "NoSaveSettings" The DWORD should be located in any of above mentioned locations, but possibly in the last one. Once you find the DWORD value, delete it and restart your system. This should solve your issue and windows should remember your desktop settings from now on. or you can do the following: Download the following file layout.zip Unzip the files on your desktop. Copy Layout.dll to C:\Windows\System32 (for Windows XP and Vista, Win 7) or C:\WINNT\System32 (for older versions of Windows). Run the Layout.reg file to make necessary changes to your registry. Arrange icons on the desktop where you want icons to be saved. Then right click on the Recycle Bin and select "Save Desktop Icon Layout". The icon positions are now saved. You should see the pop up saying "Desktop Icon Settings Saved" which will verify the desktop layout has been saved. If you do not see the message, right click the Recycle Bin and select "Save Desktop Icon Layout" again. Next time Windows rearranges the icon layout again, you can restore the layout by right clicking either: - My Computer - Network Neighborhood (My Network Places), - Recycle Bin and select "Restore Desktop Icon Layout" to restore the layout back to the way you previously saved it. You can move the icons around freely, however whenever you want them restored to their original saved positions, right click on Recycle Bin, Network Neighborhood, or My Computer again and select "Restore Desktop Icon Layout" to save the new desktop layout.
  12. Actually, they've sent me mail with the registration key and download links to version 12
  13. What is this? I've received the key for version 10, but I'm only able to download lates version 12. Will this key work with version 12, I seriously doubt
  14. Thanks mona, I was using O&O defrag before. Will try it now after couple of years
  15. I think this is a bug in Windows 7. I am experiencing this on several of mine Windows 7 machines (work, home, etc). The only way to solve this is to configure it as you wish. Once you resize it as you like, it won't go smaller again. At least, I didn't have this issue again.
  16. I have NVidia 8800GT, which should be inexpensive now. It's not the latest technology, but is very powerful. Also check the native resolution on your monitor and see if your new graphic card supports it. One other thing... 40" Monitor, are you gone berserk? You'll need a graphic card with a lot of RAM in it to work smoothly on this resolutions.
  17. Merry Christmas to all of you! It is the warmest Christmas here in Croatia I can remember. 16 degrees outside
  18. You have setup your broadband connection on your PC, but no point for doing that if you have router. Set up your broadband connection on the router Set it up to connect on demand Enable DHCP (which is already enabled) In properties of a connection, select 'never dial a connection' Your PC's should connect to internet over router, not directly.
  19. Navigate to: Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections I need to see your defined and default network connections.
  20. I don't know why it shows in the map. Please make a screenshot of network connections screen on both PC's.
  21. If DHCP is enabled on the router you should get an IP address in this way: 192.168.0.x Try to run cmd on both PC's and enter: ipconfig /renew Post your message here. Also, after than run ipconfig /all and post your results.
  22. Please set the 'obtain DNS server address automatically' on the second PC. Also, when you've used 'ipconfig' command, you should get the address of default gateway. Which is it? With these two IP addresses on your Home LAN, no wonder those 2 PC's don't see each other.
  23. I'll go to sleep now mate, will replay you tomorrow. Until then please do the following. Enable DHCP on the router, if not enabled. On both PC's, open command prompt and type 'ipconfig /all', without quotation marks. List your results here. If you're PC's are connected to the router (which, this is the case), they're not getting an IP from your ISP, but from the router instead. Router is the one who's getting IP address from your ISP upon successful connection. Also, once you find out IP address of those PC's, please try to run the 'ping' command to test the connection of those PC's. For instance: run | cmd | enter ping 'name or IP address of another PC' Basically, what you have to do, in few easy steps: - Set your router to connect to Internet (ISP connection) - apparently you've already did this - Set up both of your PC's to use DHCP in configuration for your network adapter - Set up file and print sharing and enable network discovery Please do everything stated above and let me know results. I will reply you tomorrow morning
  24. Let's say we have PC A and PC B on PC-A type the following in the run prompt: \\PC-B\C$ and hit enter, where 'PC-B' is the name of the second PC or its IP address. If you're using DHCP on the router, then you can use the PC name. Also, what happens when you use just this command: \\PC-B\ Anything opens, any errors, prompts?
  25. If you have two Windows 7 OS systems, your best way to share docs is to use 'Home Network' feature, which is only available in Windows 7. To be able to see each other, you'll have to enable following features in Windows 7: - Turn on network discovery - Turn on file and printer sharing What happens if you type the following command in your Run prompt: \\PC-name\C$
