  18. Hello mrk, yes, you're right about xp sp3. XP x86 is 5.1 kernel and XP x64 is 5.2 kernel (same like Win2003 Server) XP x64's SP2 which was released in 2007 is much much newer than XP x86's SP2 (2004). But there's a better way, you can use the /PAE switch (Physical Address Extension) to utilize the 4GB of memory. To boot the system and utilize PAE memory, the /PAE switch must be added to the corresponding entry in the Boot.ini file. Basically, if you want to use your 4 GB or memory, you should add the /PAE switch to the end of the line in boot.ini file. More info: http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platf...PAE/PAEdrv.mspx
  19. I'm sorry for the downtime of the forum for the last several hours. Our host set a wrong configuration in our index.php file so every access to the forum was redirected to a 404 page.
  20. We'll leave it as it is for now, but thanks for your suggestion and concerns.
  21. Dear members and guests, due to a high server load which was caused by WinCert.net Forum we've been forced to do the following to keep this forum running: The Search feature for guests is now disabled RSS update is now completely disabled Server Load is configured so once the server starts to sweat our users will get the message that the server is too busy. Custom search provider is now disabled for the forum 'Users Browsing this forum' feature is now disabled 'Users Browsing this topic' feature is now disabled Forum DataBase has been optimized UPDATE The forum structure has been changed and here's the list of actions: I've changed the following things in the forum structure - Addon Makers Lounge seems to be not needed, so I moved all of those topics in the staff lounge forum and DELETE the "Addon Makers Lounge" forum - Websites and Boards - it was only for spamming and advertising IMO - forum removed, topics trashed - Desktop Screenshots - this isn't very popular lately, so no point of having it. Current topics will be removed to the "Graphics Showcase" forum - The "Poll Field" has been removed from the board and its posts are moved to "General Discussion" forum - Vista Gadgets forum has been removed and related posts are moved to Microsoft Windows Vista forum - Legacy Microsoft Operating Systems forum has been removed and one topic in it was trashed (sorry Kels), but it seems that we do not need a legacy forum here - 64bit Operating Systems forum has been removed and all posts were moved to proper sections (Vista x64 to Vista forum, etc) - Photoshop subforum has been removed and all posts were moved to Tips and Tricks forum. (lack of activity) - Security Threats subforum has been removed and all posts were removed to "Networks and Security Field" forum (lack of activity) - Game Consoles subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - Portable Devices subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - System Builds & Upgrades subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - Benchmarks & Performance subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - Benchmarks & Performance subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - Portable Devices subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Hardware Field (lack of activity) - VB Scripts subforum has been removed and all topics were moved to Scripting and Programming forum (no need for 2 categories) - Unattended Windows Zone subforum has been deleted from Italian forum (lack of activity) Have in mind that this changes doesn't have to be permanent. If needed, we will create some of this forums again, but for now bigger part of these forums are not needed anymore. We're also continuing to tune up the forum so we can avoid similar issues in the future. You should already notice that the forum performance has increased with this changes.
