This has got to be one of the funniest I've heard of in a long time. I think this guy should have been promoted, not fired. It's a true story from the Word Perfect Helpline which was transcribed from a recording monitoring the customer care department. Needless to say the HelpDesk employee was fired; however, he/she is currently suing the Word Perfect organization for "Termination without Cause." Actual dialogue of a former WordPerfect Customer Support employee (now I know why they record these conversations!) : "Ridge Hall computer assistance; may I help you?" "Yes, well, I'm having trouble with WordPerfect." "What sort of trouble?" "Well, I was just typing along, and all of a sudden the words went away." "Went away?" "They disappeared." "Hmm. So what does your screen look like now?" "Nothing." "Nothing?" "It's blank; it won't accept anything when I type." "Are you still in WordPerfect, or did you get out?" "How do I tell?" "Can you see the C: prompt on the screen?" "What's a sea-prompt?" "Never mind, can you move your cursor around the screen?" "There isn't any cursor: I told you, it won't accept anything I type." "Does your monitor have a power indicator?" "What's a monitor? "It's the thing with the screen on it that looks like a TV. Does it have a little light that tells you when it's on?" "I don't know." "Well, then look on the back of the monitor and find where the power cord goes into it. Can you see that?" "Yes, I think so." "Great. Follow the cord to the plug, and tell me if it's plugged into the wall." "Yes, it is." "When you were behind the monitor, did you notice that there were two cables plugged into the back of it, not just one?" "No." "Well, there are. I need you to look back there again and find the other cable." "Okay, here it is." "Follow it for me, and tell me if it's plugged securely into the back of your computer." "I can't reach." "Uh huh. Well, can you see if it is?" "No." "Even if you maybe put your knee on something and lean way over?" "Oh, it's not because I don't have the right angle - it's because it's dark." "Dark?" "Yes -the office light is off, and the only light I have is coming in from the window." "Well, turn on the office light then." "I can't." "No? Why not?" "Because there's a power failure." "A power... A power failure? Aha, Okay, we've got it licked now. Do you still have the boxes and manuals and packing stuff your computer came in?" "Well, yes, I keep them in the closet." "Good. Go get them, and unplug your system and pack it up just like it was when you got it. Then take it back to the store you bought it from." "Really? Is it that bad?" "Yes, I'm afraid it is." "Well, all right then, I suppose. What do I tell them?" "Tell them you're too f ...ing stupid to own a computer.

  5. I've found this posted by a guy who was interviewed for work at Microsoft. Check the conversation flow below: From "Pete" (not his real name): I walked into my first technical interview at Microsoft, and before I could say anything, the woman says, You're in an 8x8 stone corridor. -I blink and sit down. Interviewer: The prince of darkness appears before you. Me: You mean, like, the devil? Interviewer: Any prince of darkness will do. Me: Ok. Interviewer: What do you do? Me: <pause> Can I run? Interviewer: Do you want to run? Me: Hmm I guess not Do I have a weapon? Interviewer: What kind of weapon do you want? Me: Um something with range? Interviewer: Like what? Me: Uh a crossbow? Interviewer: What kind of ammo do you have? Me: <long pause> Ice arrows? Interviewer: Why? Me: <floundering> Because the prince of darkness is a creature made of fire??? Interviewer: Fine, so what do you do next? Me: I shoot him? Interviewer: No what do you do? Me: <blank stare> Interviewer: You WASTE him! You *WASTE* the prince of darkness!! Me: <completely freaked out and off my game> Holy crap, what have I gotten myself into. She then tells me that she asks that question for two reasons. 1) Because she wants to know if the candidate is a gamer (which is apparently really important please note: I'm not a gamer) 2) because she wants her question to show up on some website. I hate to accommodate her, but this is definitely the weirdest interview question I've ever heard of. Well, here you go, weird-prince-of-darkness-wasting-lady...
  6. Hey fellas, I've just opened my PC case, for the first time since I bought it, so approximately 6 months. Although I have Thermaltake Kandalf case which uses dust filters, it was still very dusty inside. After I've vacumed the dust from coolers, I've used compressed air to blow away the dust inside the box. Anyway, I wanted to ask you guys, how often do you clean your PC box and do you dismantle every piece of it before you start with cleaning.. How often do you change your processor cooling paste? Do you clean your memory connectors with a rubber eraser? If you have any useful information regarding this, please reply

Ok, I've received the money Sull. I've just read in the papers I got that my Vista is now reloadable and that I'll receive money to that card and number from now on. If possible, can someone try to send me money on Ikobo account now. Just TRY, don't accept anything until we found out what's the provision for this transaction. Since Sull was so generous, he paid me 20$ along with the card shipment expenses, with totally 37$. I think that provision should be about 2-5$ for this amounts. BTW, has anyone tried Moneybookers? It seems that moneybookers have lowest fee. Anyone care to try, I'll send back the money through paypal to whoever would help me on this..
