Some of you might Google before you find out that Microsoft made a tutorial on how to customize a Windows 7 theme. For that purpose I will post that tutorial for your information.
You can change individual parts of a theme (the pictures, colors, and sounds), and then save the revised theme for your own use or to share with other people.
To change parts of a theme
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click the theme that you want to change to apply it to your desktop.
Do one or more of the following:
To change the background, click Desktop Background, select the check box for the image that you want to use, and then click Save changes.
To change the color of window borders, click Window Color, click the color that you want to use, adjust the intensity, and then click Save changes.
To change the sounds for the theme, click Sounds, click an item in the Sound Schemes list, and then click OK.
To add or change a screen saver, click Screen Saver, click an item in the Screen saver list, change any settings that you want to change, and then click OK.
Your revised theme will appear under My Themes as an unsaved theme.
To save a revised theme for your use only
To save your revised theme to use on your computer, follow these steps:
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click your revised theme to apply it to the desktop.
Click Save theme.
Type a name for your theme, and then click Save.
The theme will appear under My Themes. Note that themes saved this way can't be shared with other people.
To save a revised theme to share with friends and family.
To share a revised theme, follow the steps below. You can share your theme using e‑mail, a network, or an external hard disk.
Open Personalization by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type personalization, and then click Personalization.
Click your revised theme to apply it to the desktop.
Right-click the theme, and then click Save theme for sharing.
In the File name box, type a name for your theme, and then click Save.
By default, Windows saves the theme in your My Documents folder.

You can add such an icon by creating a .rc file and add that one to your project. Make sure that the icon file (.ico) resides in the same directory. That .rc file (myapp.rc) looks like.

Video tutorial: how to create your localized Onepiece's UpdatePack (and IE, WMP11 or Silverlight Addons) with DXUPAC  
 
This tool allows you to create a localized UpdatePack or Addon, simply following these steps:
Place in a folder (source folder) the complete source already updated with the latest Service Pack and exactly all the hotfix installers and additional components listed in Onepiece's AIO UpdatePack topics (for XP and 2003 UpdatePacks) or the setup file and all the eventually needed hotfix installers (for Addons). UpdatePack INTL Files or UpdatePack INTL Files you can find the needed hotfixes updated lists for the 24 main XP localizations..
If you are creating UpdatePacks, you need add in source folder the following addons:
netfx 3.5 gdr addon
netfx 4.0 gdr addon
Starting from June release you must also add this addon in source folder
in place of install_flash_player_ax.exe file, because Flash installer doesn't support anymore 7-Zip.
Run DXUPAC.exe with the needed settings and the path of source folder.
When finished, you get your own localized addon/pack in 7z format, WU-compliant. The only thing missing will be your localized .net 3.5/4 language packs . You can add them too using Svcpack addons you can build with another easy tool available here . You need only to place in same directory dotnetfx35langpack_x86**.exe and dotNetFx40LP_Full_x86**.exe files you'll get from Microsoft and run.
Only for Unicode language XP users (like ARA, CHS, CHT, ELL, HEB, JPN, KOR, RUS): you should update manually the TimeZone Hotfix lines as DXUPAC is not able to to take out lines in local language so they are created in English. You need to extract latest TimeZone KB (you find them under [TZ_KBLAST.AddReg]) and update all lines from Argentina_Display=* to Yakutsk_Display in Strings section.
 
Trust me: creating an Onepiece's localized AIO UpdatePack need only a few clicks. So please don't ask for ready-to-use UpdatePacks, you can do it by yourself, we really got no time to rebuild 24 different updatepacks every month. Thank you for your comprehension.

I love the new Office Ribbon. However, the first thing I wanted to do was modify it. The Home tab has a big chunk of the Styles group that I don't use. I think this is a bug in Windows 7.
I am experiencing this on several of mine Windows 7 machines (work, home, etc).
The only way to solve this is to configure it as you wish. Once you resize it as you like, it won't go smaller again. At least, I didn't have this issue again.

How To Change Windows 7 Logon Screen
Here's how to do it manually
Its is always nice to know how things work behind the scenes, what better way to do so then try them out yourself. To change the logon screen manually follow these steps:
Run the registry editor (Win Key + R and then type regedit, press enter)
Navigate to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Authentication\LogonUI\Background , double click on key named OEMBackground and change its value to 1 (If you cannot find the path or the key go ahead and create it, remember OEMBackground is a Dword)

You just enabled the OEM Background functionality. Now browse to the folder %windir%\system32\oobe\info\backgrounds within Windows explorer. %windir% refers to your Windows install directory C:\Windows in most systems. Again the folder path may not exist already, so you can go ahead and create required folders (info and backgrounds are generally not present)

Now put in any JPG file with size less than 256 kb in this folder and rename it to backgroundDefault.jpg. This file will be stretched to fit the screen, so you would want it to match the resolution of your screen so that image doesn

Seems that we've found source of our problems.
We've noticed that were getting at least 5 requests per second from IP address 68.58.188.236 to "index.php?act=rssout&id=1". Now, this is no longer a valid page in IPB3 (was in IPB2 however, although it was off too), but the fact that there are like 5 requests per second from the same IP means that our server was basically getting flooded with requests and just couldn't handle it. Upon editing .htaccess file to block this IP address load dropped from 16 to 2.22..
The problem was either we were being DOS'd by the IP mentioned above, more or less or it was a valid member who simply has a buggy RSS reader (and that RSS reader has the old invalid URL in it for our RSS feed). We should figure out which members can no longer access our site, let them know about the issue, so they can update the URL for the RSS feed in their reader, which should likely resolve the problems (when they could be unblocked again).
