  1. I'm not fully sure but i think Windows 8 DISM is a lot faster than Windows 7 DISM. Windows 8 DISM also has extra features
  2. apparently install.esd's are encrypted and i'm not sure if there is a way to make them into a normal install.wim
  3. I also recommend #3. It's hard to answer without having the HDD itself.
  4. I've just used this method and it works nicely
  5. Sometimes the trash forum have link to warez and such. NIM has created an 'old' sub-forum which the requests section
  6. Email sent.
  7. Some addons are silent installers whilst other directly integrate the files
  8. Problem with that Ricktendo is that people who donate directly to me don't become 'Sponsors' on wincert so they wouldn't get access to the VIP forum. Update: I'm going to be writing the emails now.
  9. Go to C:\Windows\System32\WinToolkit_RunOnceLog.txt, it should have a log.
  10. Is windows installed from a USB/CD/DVD?
  11. What version did you use to integrate them?
  12. Hello, for anyone who has donated to Win Toolkit should check their emails in the next 6 12 hours as you will be receiving some excellent news. Just a heads up. Here is a clue: Updates.txt
  13. Those results in that link are definitely old. my SSD (average) opens word up in less than a second.
  14. SSD vs HDD... Hell yes there is a difference. Haven't really tested with RAMDrive.
  15. I can't do anything at the minute as I'm currently updating my Win7Disk with the January updates. I've noticed it can sometimes take a while when it cleaning temp files during integration. Maybe I can fix that
  16. 1. Integrate the 3 msu files. 2. Nope, it's not safe. However the WinSXS\\Backup is safe to delete though.
  17. System32 folder if I remember correctly.
  18. Not sure, never experienced that issue. Probably for backup reasons :/
  19. DISM probably had a whole team of people to create it, i suppose I could monitor an integration and see how it works fully.
  20. There's probably lots of junk in the WinSXS folder. For example, you could remove the some update files but you wont be able uninstall old updates.
  21. 1. Sort of, it does replace files but Windows does keep the old files in case you want to uninstall it. 2. They shouldn't be installed after Windows installation, for me they are completely removed. I think Windows 8 DISM does have a feature to actually remove old/superseded files. 3. I'm planning on adding more to the 'vLite' list which actually removes the files.
  22. I manage to use 6GB RAM Drive ok, but for some reason it won't create a RAM Drive in Windows 8 x64 SSD would be a great upgrade for a PC, it's like having a new computer. I could add an option for the user to be able to select: Win Toolkit Temp Mount Temp ScratchDir Temp People also forget their anti-virus will slow down the update process a lot. The best and only way to make it way faster is if I removed DISM and made Win Toolkit handle everything manually.
  23. If you don't provide a scratchdir command it uses windows default temp directory. Apparently you can use also the scratchdir switch when mounting too. I wonder if that is also moved to RAMDrive speed will be increased?
  24. The C:\WinToolkit_Temp will most likely just be for the mounting.
  25. I think I may have sorted it EDIT: Fixed in v1.4.1.10
