I have only been testing McRip because I know Komm is out of commission for the time being... so my references are on his file structure
-
As Rica reported I can confirm that the option is not functioning as expected and the items/folders referenced previously are not being shown. The additional issue with this is that every time I run the ToolKit against my directory which has the folders in it, the ToolKit moves all the files to the OLD folder and I have to move them back
-
Interesting... I actually use AlternateStreamView by nirsoft to remove the data streams on everything I integrate before I run WinToolKit
-
Simply AWESOME

In a way I can understand about the beginner friendly idea but I for one really don't like this. For me one of the strengths in the toolkit is the ability to be more of a "one stop" tool that gives everyone what they want. I would much prefer the ability to make a choice about downloading files and if needed have some info, popups, mouse overs etc regarding the need. I'm not sure what you mean about not checking each month for updates or only for the ones that are needed... this stuff always changes and some items above change monthly so how exactly is one to easily check those and download those items... before the toolkit did it for me in one single shot and then I determined what changed and how to apply the items. McRip and Komm do an unbelievable job but even with that its still a heck of a task to get all of this straight each month so for me this actually made things harder and not easier.

After using my old folders with v1.5 and having files moved to the OLD directory I decided to start from scratch with no previous anything so here are my questions and observations before I make any comments: I noticed their are folders in the additional items that are not included even as options to download... is this intentional? Update changelog.txt file not available no KB2728973-rvkroots.exe no Integrate to installation media/KB2023591/ no KB890830.Microsoft.Windows.Malicious.Software.Removal.Tool/ no KB2506143.Windows.Management.Framework.3.0.CTP/ no KB2724074MicrosoftBitLockerAdministrationAndMonitoring/ no Silverlight/ no VPC/

Thanks for the response and I did "re-read" the thread but I either don't get it or I just don't quite agree with it... I will try and compose my thoughts in a separate thread...
-
Threads have been busy so forgive me if I missed this but are you selectively choosing certain folders under McRips Additional directory? I have folders not being selected but worse for me is the files I did have there have been moved to OLD... makes things a little confusing

I am a avid supporter of Microsoft for many reasons BUT I said it before and I will say it again: MS should be ashamed of themselves for not having an updated SP or ISO... I will definitely support WINCERT if this happens... and frankly I need to support you regardless of this and I will make sure I get this done shortly!!!

BIG Congratulations... :thumbsup_anim:

v19 odd behavior on update selection. I actually had to run this with a few different methods to make sense of it. I ran the check it found a single "additionals" update but toolkit had no option buttons to do anything... I decided to put a check in the update and then the download button appeared... I deleted a few of my other "additionals" I had already downloaded re-ran the toolkit and it showed the updates but no buttons... I checked 1 and the button appeared and stayed visible even if I unchecked the update. I then deleted some regular updates from my folder and the toolkit showed additional unchecked, recommended checked and the download button was visible. Not sure if this is by design but thought I should point it out. And can't resist saying DAMN this work is AWESOME!!!! I have an image but it's too big to post
-
THANKS I tried b9 and it does download the files but the 2 readme files are deleted on re-scan. I downloaded them directly and placed them in the proper folders and tried again. The toolkit actually didn't show them to be downloaded but deleted them again
-
I am going to try 1.5 b9 with some update and driver integrations today
-
Not sure I am clear on this... will v77 be updated or is the fix only in 1.5?
-
Not sure if this is WinToolKit or McRip: I run b8 and it shows updates, I download them, watch them go to the directory and then as the toolkit re-scans they "magically" disappear... I tried this 2x same results

I'm LOVING this :dribble:

I wanted to edit my post but the option isn't there hmmmmm I wonder if it's my Chrome Developer browser :-) Anyway I tried again and I selected my "tweaks" .ini and pressed the start and it asked to save a new version... that's odd because I made no changes... when I pressed the x to not save a new .ini that's when the error occurred.
-
I had just finished a "removal" with is an .ini I have used all the time and then I went to use a "tweaks" .ini I always use but decided not to so clicked the x to back out and somehow I got the following and can't close... and where is the "cancel"?

Windows6.1-KB2495879-x64 SoLoR Integrate to Media Question
compstuff replied to compstuff's topic in Win Toolkit
I see you have been reading just about everything :-) ...this is a great site and a great tool :-) -
I haven't integrated drivers in a long time and today while trying I notice some blue highlights on a few drivers but I'm not sure what that means since they all have different names.

What are versioned superseded KB packages? These are updates that have newer update packages available What is Satisfy WU? Here is some great info http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/19461-Windows-Hotfix-repository/page651?p=639152&viewfull=1#post639152 basically they make MS Update show nothing to add Do you have any experience with WSUS? I used to use it long ago but it was querky so I stopped.... now I would use KUC over that any day

I'm not the best person to answer this but I can get you started in the right direction. Technically I will never fully comprehend how the guys are such experts at differentiating the superseded updates etc but the general forum about all of this is found here: http://forums.mydigi...tfix-repository McRip http://hotfix.cesidian.info/ and Komm http://windows-update-checker.com/ both maintain the "motherload" of updates along with amazing tools for their use. Komm's KUC is one of my main tools for developing and maintaining my integration's. Burfadel http://burf.cesidian.info/ also has toools and items that I use as well. If you follow the forum and use their updates and tools you should "learn" what you need but I won't kid you... personally I find this a daunting task and much of that is due to MS not releasing a service pack for so long which means using about 400 updates to maintain an image. EDIT: For got to mention that WinToolKit has the function to download the updates from McRip's repo and that gives you about 90% of what you need in one shot
