  1. I already created a separate post about KB2823180 but I just finished another test and after using McRips's updates which included the WU_Satisfy I was left with KB2823180 showing in MS Update and also in the KUC. I ran each step of the KUC process and after completion MS Update is clean and so is the KUC. I really can't explain or understand all the differences but everything seems complete and stable.
  2. I have had the same experience... I have added so much to my xml since it was 1st generated and I am still learning/experimenting with this.
  3. I have spent all weekend testing and updating my integration process and KB2823180 doesn't want to play nice at all... I integrate McRip's updates in STEP-1 STEP-1-UPDATES-07-07-13.ini and then I integrate my SFX items which includes KB2823180 (after .NET 4.5) STEP-2-SFX-07-06-13.ini and it always shows in MS Update.... even the KUC shows it uninstalled YET Windows update history shows it installed... has me stumped.
  4. So I got through my Step-1 and Step-2 and after a little tweaking I got all but KB2823180 to integrate perfectly (I will get back to KB2823180 and figure it out) but I decided to use the latest KUC to see where I stood with the image and damn it showed that I had to download 49 updates with lots more changes than I expected. KUC_packages_OUT.TXT This really surprised me and has me re-thinking how I want to use the tools moving forward
  5. update request filled
  6. WOW that's pretty amazing...
  7. Hello All, I have been absent for quite sometime due to serious personal issues which were only amplified when my two laptops and Galaxy S3 phone were rendered useless due to an accident. Getting back to where I left off has been difficult and I am still not close but working on it, so I hope to be visiting and participating more frequently again. i needed to make a new image for myself to get my laptop backup and running so I used an E6520 I7 with 16 GIG of ram and a Samsung 840 Pro SSD to start my process. I decided to create a softperfect ram disk ( it tested to be MUCH faster than any other ram disk I tried... using diskmark nothing nothing came close to it) I created a 10 GIG ram disk and copied my source and my 404 updates to it. STEP-1-UPDATES-07-04-13.ini It took 1 hr and 30 minutes for the integration to complete which shaved and entire hr off my last integration on my other laptop. Keeping in mind that the other system had a much slower SSD I am not exactly comparing apples to oranges. I doubt I will test this without the ram drive for now but if I do I will report back... for now I need to get my system running.
  8. Another big Big Thanks Rick
  9. Thanks for the feedback... I have been working on Step 2 for the last few days and I just finished two new integration's with a revised Step 1 (including IE10). I will start updating the posts later this evening.
  10. I realize that McRip certainly has his hands full but I noticed that this was not implemented in his latest server changes... do you know if this is still the plan?
  11. Just wanted to let everyone know that I just returned from a trip and I will be working on updating this info this week...
  12. I held off commenting because I wasn't able to define a method of using KUC in an integrated manner (i'm not a programmer or coder) but this is quite nice indeed
  13. I also haven't checked yet but I am going to try today... Thiersee reported that .16 worked but .17 didn't... http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/11068-windows-update-agent-not-integrated-in-v14117/?p=96636
  14. That's awesome I have a DS212j
  15. I love the KUC but at this point of learning just pick one method and use that... since this is the WinToolKit thread use it as your 1st step and download McRips files and it will work well.
  16. I am soo busy with my own integration and work issues that I didn't check yet because I want to be able to concentrate when I do... but trust me I am really interested and will definitely get to it... Thanks very much
  17. MeltManBob the way I do it is to use McRips updates and WinToolKit... I do use the KUC but my method is to use it as a 2nd run which I haven't explained yet... trying to get to it. Anyway I download all of McRip's and select some of the additional updates along with the rest of the GDR/LDR items. Here is my last Step-1 ini which does NOT include IE10: STEP-1-Updates-02-15-13.ini This ini definitely works so as a test you could use it by just changing the txt to fit your folder structure NOTE: this is not the latest set of updates that McRip has so it is slightly out of sync but should still work fine for testing
  18. That is great news for everyone
  19. No more direct downloads on his server due to the recent DOS attacks but the WinToolKIt and Windows Download Integrator work.
  20. Here is the Guide for it and as you can see in the pic the txt file should be listed... this feature is pretty much straight forward: http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/9571-update-catalog/?p=83745 Also on the main screen the Options button brings up general options and the Update Catalog Filter offers additional downloads
  21. I personally use the KUC all the time and it works great so the fact that WinToolKit can't download from his server makes it pretty useless actually and just congests/confuses the option I also wonder just how long both of these guys can keep up with this amazing resource they provide. It a daunting task and I can't fathom how much time they put into this.... add the contacts attacks they have both had and I can only say that I am sure it would have worn me down. It will be a great loss if we lose either of them
  22. That's the same result I get... empty folders
  23. I would say yes... unless Komm plans on changes the access like McRip just did
  24. I would really love to get the WU_Satisfy folder... but I already get the changelog.txt everytime I do an update
  25. So use to looking in the beta releases that I didn't check that thanks
