Hi I've just download the latest version 2. Now, when I select All-In-One Integrator and then WIM to mount a wim file I'm getting a message come up every time with just a 5 displayed. I wont mount and wim file. I've created a folder named \Win7 and copied the Windows DVD to that folder. Regards Worf

Hi. I done a custom windows using sysprep. On the screen where you enter your name I pressed Ctrl+Shift+F3. When my system rebooted I installed all the updates, Flash Player ect, I didn't install any apps. I've captured the image. When I came to try it out I found that I am having problems with my ports, I install my bit-torrent 'Vuze' but it can't connect to the internet. Anyone have any ideas please? Thank you Worf

Hi. I have been trying to install windows 7 x64 in audit mode with an AutoUnattended.xml file but for some reason Windows is not detecting the .xml file on install. I have place the .xml file on the root of the dvd. I did try it in VMWare and the .xml file was detected but when Windows was installed i was asked for an Administrator user name and password. Here is my .xml file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <settings pass="windowsPE"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Setup" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <UserData> <AcceptEula>true</AcceptEula> </UserData> <ImageInstall> <OSImage> <InstallTo> <DiskID>0</DiskID> <PartitionID>1</PartitionID> </InstallTo> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </OSImage> </ImageInstall> <DiskConfiguration> <Disk wcm:action="add"> <ModifyPartitions> <ModifyPartition wcm:action="add"> <Active>true</Active> <Extend>false</Extend> <Format>NTFS</Format> <Label>System</Label> <Letter>C</Letter> <Order>1</Order> <PartitionID>1</PartitionID> </ModifyPartition> </ModifyPartitions> <DiskID>0</DiskID> <WillWipeDisk>true</WillWipeDisk> </Disk> <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> </DiskConfiguration> </component> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-International-Core-WinPE" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <SetupUILanguage> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> </SetupUILanguage> <InputLocale>en-US</InputLocale> <SystemLocale>en-US</SystemLocale> <UILanguage>en-US</UILanguage> <UserLocale>en-US</UserLocale> </component> </settings> <settings pass="oobeSystem"> <component name="Microsoft-Windows-Deployment" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="neutral" versionScope="nonSxS" xmlns:wcm="http://schemas.microsoft.com/WMIConfig/2002/State" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"> <Reseal> <Mode>Audit</Mode> </Reseal> </component> </settings> <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:c:/wims/install.wim#Windows 7 ULTIMATE" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" /> </unattend> Many thanks for your help Worf

Make custom installer file of windows 7 add new folders
Worf replied to oggge's topic in Microsoft Windows 7
Yes that is true *Reaper*, just thought i would give an alternative way of doing it. But like you said using addons is less hands-on, and it is much safer. -
Make custom installer file of windows 7 add new folders
Worf replied to oggge's topic in Microsoft Windows 7
Why don't you just add them straight to the Mount folder? I add all my font's, wallpaper, themes, small apps ect this way without any problems. Use Imagex to mount the .wim file to say 'C:\Mount'. Once mounted, open the 'C:\Mount' directory'. This will display the contents of the .wim file. ( (Program Files) - (Program Files(x86)) - (Windows) - ect) Goto the directory where you want these folders, and just create a new folder. Copy any Fonts, Wallpapers, Themes, ect into the correct folders. When you have done everything use Imagex to unmount the .wim image. Make sure you use the /Commit argument to commit the changes. This is how i do it and also things like 'Adobe Flash Player - Shockwave Player - Adobe Reader - DirectX 10.1', and their registry settings. I also do the same with some of my applications all registered and ready to run when i do a fresh install. -
Hi. Which is the best way to do this, should i delete windows default drivers first then intergrate my own or is it the other way round? Regards Worf.

I'm not talking about RT7Lite, i am talking about W7T not creating the mount folder where it should be created, ie 'C:\W7tMount'. Even though in the settings file it says that the mount folder is to be created on 'C:\W7TMount' and i have searched my whole drive and could not find where W7T has created it. The strange thing is that when i restart W7T, it reloads the already mounted image even though i can not find where it created the W7TMount directory. I have used W7T before along side RT7Lite without any problems. And the reason i need the Mount directory is that i manually copy my small apps, fonts, themes, DX10.1, Flash Player ect into the Wim file, then use W7T to import the reg files. Regards Worf

Hi digitalnerd. Thank you for you reply. Even if i have W7T running there are no folders and when i mean close W7T, i mean i click on the red X , top right corner. I have checked my C: and D: drives for W7T folders and could not find them.
-
Hi. Where does W7T put the mounted image? According to the settings they are supposed be on the C: drive (C:\W7TMount), but when i look there are no folders. I have checked in the Local and the other folders but can't seem to find the folder. When i close W7T it doesn't seem to commit the changes to the Wim file. Example: I used RT7Lite to intergrate SP1 as i could not find an option in W7T. Then i used W7T to intergrate Solor's updates. As im not to keen with the option on the component removal as i don't find them very clear as to what they are, i used RT7Lite to remove components as it is more clear as to what they are. After using RT7Lite i commited the changes to the Wim file. Now, when i check the size the source, it said 2.59GB. When i open W7T and click the 'All-In-One-Tool', Loads the already mounted image and say's it is 10GB. For some reason, W7T is not commiting the changes when it is closed! How can i find where the image is mounted and how can i get W7T to load the new changed Wim file? Many Thanks Worf

Hi All. Here is a sort video of how i intergrate my applications into Windows 7 Without using Setup installs. For this you will need to install InstallWatch and for best results do this on a fresh install of Windows. My link Regards Worf

Not sure it didn't say, all i know is that this DX10 does work in XP although about two DX10 games that i know off does have some problems with graphics and they do supply patchs for these games with the release of DX10 but i can't remember which ones they are off the toip of my head.

Yes it was but another team has taken it up. Here is some info. DirectX10 for Microsoft Windows XP all versions! Within 2 years we have searched for the method of binding DirectX10 to Windows XP, and came close to solving the problem running any DX10 of compatible programs. At this time we succeeded in increasing the speed and quality graphics in games! Manufacturer: KM-Software Design: Massiveattack Size: 9.3 MB Language: Multi Platform: Windows XP/2k3 License: Freeware History: Version AVF - 16.10.2009 [!] Fixed false positives antivirus [!] Added and updated library of the October version of DirectX [+] Added a patch for STALKER ERs (10 patch) and Call of Pripyat [+] Updated installer to version 5.3.4 [-] Folder Game Fix moved to a separate file Here is a link if you want to try it. Though it is in russian. Download Lik I have installed this on my XP and had no problems at all. Here are some more screen shots, these are from XP using DX10.

I know that there were fake DX10 files going round but this one is from the same people that did Alky for applications.
-
Here are some screen shots from the developer of DX10 for XP. DX10 for XP is still in development so not all games will work properly.
-
Yes DX10, DreamScenes are just normal .WMV files. If you have a DirectX10 card you will be able to play DX10 games in XP. I'm supprised that not many people knew about DX10 being ported to XP.

Thank you for your post, i would be greateful. These are built into WSFI and if you wish to have them integrated into your XP source they will be added not as an addon but as part of the OS. What i mean by this, they would be integrated in to XP the same as let's say Media Player. I have also been working on another application (Which is nearly finnished) that would allow user to have which ever program they want to show up in the Control Panel, this was also going to be part of WSFI but for the time being i thought i would do it on it's own.
-
WSFI is dead, i have decided not to continue with it as there have been no comments or feed back. It has been fun writting it as it was my first application. Regards Worf
-
Thank you both, need this info so i can incorperate it into WSFI so that users can create there own control panel apps.

Thank you Beats. :thumbsup_anim:

Hi. How would i display an .exe as an .cpl in Control Panel? I know there is a registry entry that can be used but can'nt find the information. Many Thanks Worf

Hi ccl0 I am in the precess of making it easier as to what to do. As for "This will over write the original system files", all it is telling you is that it will over right the original system files if your XP Source folder. (I might take that bit out.) In the remove components, all the ones grayed out are not implemented yet, the only things you can remove are the ones enabled. In the add files, i am adding a little help there too. I am open to any ideas as to improving WSFI even the GUI. This is my first application i have written.
-
Hi ccl0. You need remove the the components first then the buttons in the add files will not be grayed out. I have done it this way because other programs ie. NLite removes them differently, so to make sure that they get integrated properly you need to use WSFI to remove the Wallpaper, Sounds and Cursors. Regards Worf
-
Hi Dark. Thank you for your comments. That could be one solution i could look at. At the moment all the default cursors are deleted and replaced with the users cursors. For some reason part of the registry entries used for the cursors are removed by windows, don't know why as windows uses these entries when a user changes thier cursor scheme in windows. Regards Worf
