Touchpad or Pointing Stick?
Well, I just got a laptop with a pointing stick and a touchpad so I was wondering what other people preferred in a laptop. Whether it be a stick or a touchpad, let's hear it I prefer the stick to be honest, I find it much easier to use when out and about. Mainly because of how sensitive the pad is too moisture. This new(er) laptop that I just got has both a stick and a touchpad in it, so I can test each of them at the same time.

A Better (Animated) Vista Boot Screen
I know there was a way to change the boot logo in MSCONFIG. You set "/NOGUIBOOT" in the BOOT.INI tab to either on or off, I can't remember. But it changes your boot logo to something a bit nicer. IIRC

I started getting weird issues with the "View New Posts" link when you updated to the newest version of IPB, but I have since learned to live with it

Security Combination
Well, it is newer, so I will assume that it is more secure. But it's only as secure as the user is.

Security Combination
It vastly depends on what sites you goto. I've been very secure just using Windows XP + IE6 with no firewall or virus software. But lately, I have been using Firewall and Virus software. The setup you have there looks like it would be very secure. However, I prefer Firefox now. On the other hand though, I have grown to like both IE7 and Firefox.

Speedup Internet Explorer 7
Try copying the key, and searching the registry for it. Maybe it's located somewhere else?

Hello
Welcome to the forums Don. It's always a pleasure to get new members that are willing to learn and try new things. It can usually help other people a great deal, mainly because you will be adding your own opinion to certain things. Another plus, is if you decided to test something on your computer, you can tell us how it worked and how well on your specific hardware. Again, welcome to the forums and enjoy your stay here :welcome:

What is your Internet Connection Speed.
My internet is faster than that. According to that, I download at about 115Kb/sec, which is close, but I'm always up over 120kb/sec (difference of 5Kb/sec, I know) but I can can get over 125kb/sec download. The upload speed is right though, it sucks! :grrr:
