XPtsp GUI v3.0.0.26 - February 27, 2012
bober replied to dougiefresh's topic in XP Theme Source Patcher
cool, im very happy that every one's happy and that they have their own space to work. -
This will be the new home for the batch releases of XPtsp. Other topics will arise accordingly to the type of XPtsp that it will represent. I hope to include more and more member made modifications. Sleeker resources are being added to the pack. Big thx to Amnesia for doing the translation and many many updates!! Also a big thx to Ricktendo for the initial work on the batch, VTP8, VistaMizer, Energize and the guys over at http://forum.oszone.net (for original resource creation). Best visual results are achieved by integrating Rick's Windows Sidebar addon Batch Scripts: FileName: XPtsp.Green.v1.4.7.1_batch.exe File Size: 58.3 MB (61,217,718 bytes) MD5: cecfe3d58409be849cb3ddfd0da25d10 FileName: XPtsp.Green.v1.4.7.1_batch.addon.rar File Size: 66.3 MB (69,566,668 bytes) MD5: ca2be06e2a3ec98c825f6ba8061044c5 Change log: Last updated June 7th 2009 v1.4.7.1 -more info 2 come... To install the batch Addon version; integrate with ryan vm integrator Please use it AFTER you have integrated/slipped any updatepack/servicepack.Alot of files are replaced by these packs it will overwrite the changes made by XPtsp..so use it last!. To install the batch version; simply brows to the root folder containing the i386 folder via the locate button on the winrar sfx installer(the file you just downloaded..XPtsp.v1.x.xx.exe) (or alternatively;drop the executable directly in the same root folder containing I386 and run the sfx and launch the procedure, no need to locate)

bober replied to ricktendo's topic in OS Transformation Packs
hey rick any big changes to the res ? -
wow n1k more great ideas. i think were gonna need to all agree on this, cause dougie has done alot of work and i do know he intended of working on part of his web site for this, and amnesia is doing alot of requests and modifications, fixit is doing complete themes..so i think were gonna have to vote, but one thing is for sure and i think we will all agree is that a subforum would be nice.
-
well i would kinda think it would be rude to wincert to dump it for an other web site...dougie is alredy hosting and made a home on his web site for the gui version..so i dunno.. i suppose you could still make one and support could be made here. i think we should make a poll or something.anyw ays i kinda stepped down from the project so these are just my 2 cents.
-
any acronis soft would be nice.
-
hehahahaha nice 1
-
yeah, well peopel should realy use the addon version, im know its a ryan vm integrator only addon but its more betterness!
-
i cant spell anyways .. and i need glasses...heha for the damn sysdm info problems, thing is i have no clue why epople are still usign the manual batch version(use the gui)...if you are ,at least use the addon version(which is more complete) anyways heres the oemgen patch for u cave people who are still using the manual batch: OEM info generator (sysdm machine info AKA system control pannel) use it and ure system ctrl pannel will be as beautiful as mine.. minus the nice specs...hehha
-
but i still dont get why this needs fixing.. good old unmodified original sysdm on a live system(with info generated courtesy of the oemgen from the addon version): this one is when u click the support information button... :gleam:

focking nice, gonna have to try it right away, gonna skip the VM and test it straight.thx -
nice bmpS amnesia edit: ok so i was reading back and saw this: and i could have sworn the output was gibberish, this change was done a long time ago and im prety sure it had to be done in order to have a clean patch...but i could be wrong....but i dunno...i wouldint have added it for nothing lol also about the setuapi.dll and sfc patched syssetup.dll (if what i understand is correct on that website ): 000456C7: 74 EB // Disable error messages in Setupapi.log and pop-up driver install dialogs with patched syssetup.dll..... so wouldint sfc patching be mandatory?
-
ill try n do some tests and find a fail safe way to replace files. btw, ive manualy replace the nt kernels by hand no batches or scripts,so i dont understand why ure having problems. dougie, did you try the replacer script?im planning to take a crack at it and see if i cant do something with it.

about sfc and replacing files : replacing the files in dll cache might not be enough, i have seen windows get a copy from the cabbed sp?.cab file in i386 temp in windows dir. so one might want to even delete that cab file ...then replace the ddl cache files then rename the original file from within their original paths, then copy over the edited files.(thing is to do a clean job, the files might be in palce but the renamed fiels are still in use byt system handles or what ever, so uppon reboot at runonce, we would have to delete those renamed files)(or would a simple kill of explorer work? i dunno, but i think a closer look at the repalcer script might be of help, if not simply using it, i belive adding the list of system files to be replaced to a text file will get picked up by the script if its in the same dir...here is a sample of that script: :sys Get system file cls&set "sys=" call:say Message GetSys call:say Message KeyEnt call:say Message OrQuit call:get sys||goto:sys call:quo sys if /i %sys%=="Q" call:brk Now if %sys:\=%==%sys% ( if not %sys:.=%==%sys% ( call:scn %sys%)) if defined pth ( for %%* in (%sys%) do ( set sys="%pth%%%~nx*")) call:chk %sys%||( call:say Message KeyCon pause>nul goto:sys) for %%* in (%sys%) do ( if /i "%%~x*"==".txt" ( <<<this is what i mean find/i ";; ReplacerScript" %%*>nul&&( call:scr %%* ))) call:ver %sys%||goto:sys (about the sp?.cab, the system might get its drivers from that, when adding new hardware)so then we should rename this cab, do our replacements, then revert back to the old name once were sure the system has finished complaining.but this is only on system that have ben updated with a service pack...so us rvm users/nlite might not have this situation..this might explain why things might work for some and not for other(live patching-wise)) ill try and read the last post/pages and give some insight if i can. (if some of you ahvint noticed i have stepped down from the project, but still itend to help out when i can, 1st post and releases will still get updated by fixit(thx))

i do know of the advantage of z7(best compression) but the biggest flaw of 7z is that the archive is not updatable thus why i kept on using rar sfx.(the .7z file i mean, hell id love to see an updatable 7z sfx but lets not wish for the moon or the sun)

like i said earlier, i was sick, and btw still am a bit.. this is ridiculous, this crappy virus or whatever i got is with me for 17 days and still going... any ways ive asked 2 members if they would like to take the reigns(fixit and amnesia as they have shown great interest and skill for editing the resources.)about the change logs , its my fault i kinda got lazy there sorry but life just got its way of throwing things a us that make it difficult to give time on the things we like/do/manage. again i am sorry about this. rud if you could also post size, i would be happy to add ure distro to 1 st post when i can
-
if the util.exe is the exact file, then xptsp dosent touch it and i dont think there even is a util.exe in windows.
-
ok guys ive ben sick for like 1 week now and its not going better, gonna have to see a doctor.plus school re started and ive missed some classes, not to mention the internship.im really considering abandoning this project.

-
n e ways merry xmas every one.will try and come back and work a bit on this, but till after new year i dunno...
-
ok nice info, cause i went ahead and made some drastic changes to the addon version and i was still screwed so ill scrap the modifications i made and keep the last build.(why fix soemthing that isint broken right?) also i wanted to know, wouldint ure plugin alow us to use the addon version of xptsp instead?cause that way we can keep on adding cursors and other stuff we can only do via .the entries.ini file.(that would be the best if you ask me)anyways thx for the info. btw: is it normal that all ure links r down?(unless ure doing updates of course)
