yes i screwed up,if you say the file found in i386 is inetcpl.mu_ then the code should be: :inetcplmui set name=inetcpl set ext=mui set big=INETCPL set com=MU_ if not exist "i386\%big%.%com%" set com=mui if not exist "i386\%big%.%com%" goto inetmgr %xp% "i386\%big%.%com%" "%tmp%\%name%.%ext%" >nul if exist "i386\%name%.%ext%" Del "i386\%name%.%ext%" >nul %rh% %ao% "%tmp%\%name%.%ext%", "%tmp%\%name%.%ext%", "%res%\%name%.%ext%.res",,,&echo patching %name%.%ext% %pe% -c %tmp%\%name%.%ext% >nul set com=MU_ %cab% /D CompressionType=LZX /D CompressionMemory=21 "%tmp%\%name%.%ext%" "i386\%big%.%com%" >nul

Change blue color of xp setup screen
bober replied to Muhammad Jamshed's topic in Windows Customization
you mean txtsetup? ithink one would have to hack winnt32.exe. -
there seems to be a problem with that picture, then left tab image is missing.not to mention alot of the dialogs for the rest of the window. should look like this: http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/6315/41928822ae2.png "EDIT: My XPSP?RES.DL_ files got changed. " so if i understand right,u had normal XPSP?RES.DL_ files and once system has installed they were renamed ?
-
cause its a file added by ie7, depending on which addon you use, it is either in i386 or in the archive that the creator has made to deploy its installation ya i get it now, foreign languages have their xpsp*res' name changed.(for the time being both batch and gui patchers are available in English only) but in the future we will prolly have to implement this.
-
but i currently have in my i386: XPSP1RES.DL_ XPSP2RES.DL_ XPSP3RES.DL_ and after in windows i still ahve the same files. i DO remember that for sp3 they were renamed sprs*.dll, but i dont know why mine are "normal" even in my clean i386(unaltered)they are XPSP*RES.DL_ . for the toast thing, the program uses a dll to "hook" the system baloontip and launch the glass tosat instead. so i have still no idea which file is responsible in xp for the ballontips. http://www.wincert.net/forum/index.php?sho...99&hl=toast dougie, you have xp home right? on a clean source how are ure xpsp res file look like? oh and sorry for keeping you guessing what i change when i do my updates... i had updated xptsp b4 i had computer probs and i forgot exactly what i had changed...
-
so the xpres*res.dll files arent getting patched? edit: after searching my i386 forlder(which has had rvmupdt pack integrated overit): XPSP1RES.DL_ XPSP2RES.DL_ XPSP3RES.DL_ there is a program that replaces the windows notify ballons with "toasts". but its buggy as hell if i remember right.it should be in the addon section of the forum.
-
open the .exe and extract XPTSP.INF(cab it if you can) and add it to the i386 folder of ure xp source. edit: was finaly able TO update. edit2:im getting fed up with sata ahci drivers!

looking nice!

nice work.

thx for the updates amnesia. i finaly got my system up and running, new mobo kick so much ass.... but i have to change my power supply...had to cut 8 wires and extend them 8 inches and their also seems to be faulty wireing in the PSU itself(lol not caused by my saudering).when i bought it i had to pass the cables in such a way that it stretches them a bit.I,m aiming at a 1 kilowatt psu. n e ways all this to say that i might update xptsp 2 night or during the weekend.
-
no idea, when i get my system up and running ill chek into it.thx for the feedback.
-
well my new mobo has arrived, i have to get it at the store tomorrow and hope to be fully functional by the end of the night. ill prolly be able to update tomorrow,if i remember right i have changed a few things in shell32. and i need to know if the winnt*(winnbbu,winntbba,winnt32..etc) files are still a problem as i dont see any problems.ive tested each scenario and all files were present and patched like they should.
-
i dunno if ill ever go to intel.
-
my old board supported sli but i never had the money to invest...had a 8600gts and would have liked a 2nd one but..oh well. now im aiming at 2x geforce X260's, nvidia's new gpu.prolly will start out with one and see in the future for a 2nd one...which ill prolly end up only getting one like on my old system.
-
man, i just ordered my new mobo and seems it may take over a week.... if not 2!! http://www.elitebastards.com/cms/index.php...6&Itemid=27

owww the autorun replacement. ask mona in this forum.
-
its quite easy open the .exe with winrar, on the xptsp.exe do: r-click and choose open with winrar, then you can drop files in it which will overwrite the original ones.
-
i ahve no idea why u guys are having trouble. the way i scripted the 4 winnt* file is like so: if the cabbed file exists, then uncab it and copy it to temp and delte the cabbed file. if it dosent exist, look for an uncabbed version and copy it to temp. after patching copy over to i386 the uncabbed file. so even if you have acabbed version an uncabbed one or even both as i have noticed this happens more than we think, the file in the end will be the patched one. i have tested this quite extensively and i cannot see why u guys are having trouble. btw i wont be able to update xptsp with all the new resources as i have killed my main pc that has all the files.
