i recently changed the way i had integrated my service packs,and like others,i had problems with files not being pached,so i looked further into this and found out the integrator eliminated the Xsp.cab files and included evrything in the DRIVER.CAB pack.so i simply changed the batch file's set variable to set spcab=DRIVER.CAB instead of " set spcab=sp2.CAB ".after re patching with the new .bat i went and expanded the driver.cab file wich contains amung others,and the bootkernels were finaly patched.so n e ways hope this helps anyone who had problems since slipping new service packs.

so i did more tests and my install goes well without viso,and with it i get a migrate.exe error.(win fr and viso fr)

im bilingual(eng french) so i can help if any one needs it just pm me or email me. and amnesia i think ure shell32dll.res in ure fr upload is bad(19,621kb) the one i end up having when change the lang code of the eng version results in 19,550kb, ithink it causes errors in windows setup. oh and btw ,the hex code for the french lang id is bad,its 0x040C not 0x000C.windows files are in french-france region and not french default.

umm, thing is viso patches icon and image resources, it dosent patch uxtheme.dll nor does it apply or edit the current theme for a vista'ish look.

yes all files are present where they should be(in txtsetup/dosnet entries and phisically present on disc).and using shift+F11 would be missing the point here,setup starts in classic mode.i have deleted my iso build and will have to build a new one to be able to post my winntbbu.dll file.but i doubt it would be the culprit.will try to post info later on.

@amnesia ,i do not wish to have the old style install,viso is causing the installer to run this way ,i have no clue why,all i know if i do not patch my files,the system uses the billboards and if do patch with viso the installs uses classic mode, and @sull ,i use the stock viso resourses.my driver install windows that are popping up are for hard drives.this problem came up last december, i havint changed my system since,still runing with sata drives.I think i have sorta an idea whats happening,it seems sum resources affect the system, for example the movie maker resources,altho well patched causes the system to complain for sum reason,so i think something similar is happening with other resources thus causing my classic setup problem and the driver window prob.i wouldint be supprised that one or more of the msc's are causing this. ill do a test build without viso on a real machine and see if i still get those driver install windows at runonceexe.

always integrator never nlite.ill do a test build 2 morow without viso and see if the driver install windows go away.but i can confirm the windows setup problem where it installs in classic mode.tested it many times, with and without, and each time i could reproduce the error or not.

the screenie i made in my last post is caused by ure v'iso tool,ure new build is the culprit. so here are the results for the oobe addon u made,appart from the fact u ommited to edit the newmark1.jpg picture all seems ok(newmark1.jpg is for 1024x768 resolutions and newmark8.jpg is for defaut 640x480 resolutions).the only thing in need of adjustment would be the "unclickable" buttons when fields are required.

i think ill be able to check ure new oobe images and make sum screen shots.ill be back in an hour or 2.. edit: i have to restart from scratch,an addon is breaking my installation.hopefully ill have sum scrennies by 2night . edit2:rick do you have entries thant launches the win setup with the old style?

tested in vm ware and it dosent get installed,but manual install works.

could it because u changed the aloud time for xp to kill hanging apps? or maybe just prefetch settings?
