  19. We all have been enjoying desktop threads a lot, now is the time to do something different. If one is skilled then art can be created out of clutter of desktop icons also. It has been made possible by the users of Gizmodo. These artworks are made of desktop folders and different icons: How you can make one: Clean up your desktop. Get an empty folder (or a set of folders in different colors,) document icons, or whatever other thing is around your desktop. Don't get big documents, as you will need to duplicate them to create your image. Third, deactivate automatic snap-to-grid in the view desktop options in Windows or Mac OS X. Optionally, load an image in the background to "trace." Start placing your folders/icons/whatever, always on a row and rendering the subject matter from top to bottom to ensure that no text from the icons on the top rows overlaps the icons on the bottom rows.
  20. All the changes in Vista SP1 are behind the scenes. It was meant for improving the performance and no change in the interface but there are indeed some changes in Windows Vista SP1 that you can actually see: In the RTM version of Disk Defragmenter, the only control you have is over the schedule. In the SP1 version of Disk Defragmenter, you can choose which hard disk you want to defragment during a manual operation. In the RTM version, you can

  22. This video shows Microsoft Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 running 108 applications at only 30% processor usage, according to Reader Daniel Smith, who sent it to us in response to the picture of Mac OS X Leopard running 150 applications this weekend. His specs are nothing to write home about: QUOTEI'm runnin a stock Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with 4GB of RAM. I counted 108 apps total and gave up bored after I had running anything from Photoshop, Visual studio 2008, Office professional 2007, Safari, and Media Center all the way down to that rescource hog, Minesweeper. How comes we haven't had any Linux user telling us he's running 250,000 apps simultaneously on six different monitors? Video Link
