Can someone check my Windows Live Messenger True Addon?
ricktendo replied to George King's topic in INF Discussion
Try adding the /T to the end like in the example Examples: TASKKILL /IM notepad.exe TASKKILL /PID 1230 /PID 1241 /PID 1253 /T TASKKILL /F /IM cmd.exe /T TASKKILL /F /FI "PID ge 1000" /FI "WINDOWTITLE ne untitle*" TASKKILL /F /FI "USERNAME eq NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" /IM notepad.exe TASKKILL /S system /U domain\username /FI "USERNAME ne NT*" /IM * TASKKILL /S system /U username /P password /FI "IMAGENAME eq note*" BTW this only works if you call the INF section using advanced INF install or advpack.dll, I have a trick that uses UnRegisterDLLs (because it executes before CopyFiles) to do this for Optional Components uninstall (see plusoc.inf of my MCE addon) [Uninstall.msmsgs] UnregisterDLLs = ExitWindowsLiveMessenger [ExitWindowsLiveMessenger] 11,,taskkill.exe,,,."/F /IM MSNMSGR.EXE /T" ;or 11,,tskill.exe,,,."MSNMSGR" -

You can use either 1 or 100 does not matter for XP (use 1 if you want it to be compatible with win2k) Your entries.ini code is fine, I have no idea why its not working it looks ok to me And no you do not have to add .inf files for this

Can someone check my Windows Live Messenger True Addon?
ricktendo replied to George King's topic in INF Discussion
I dont know because I dont make the Windows Live Messenger full replacement addon (OnePiece does it) but you may have to change the dll it uses to install to ocgen.dll -
No more FTP...there is a more updated version and true addons of this program, I cant seem to find the links to provide you (maybe somebody who reads this can help find the true qt addons)

I have no idea what InstallType does but IconIndex this is what it does If its like this: IconIndex = 99 Look in setupapi.dll on the looooooong bitmap 1201 and count to 99 If its like this: IconIndex = *, ..\nameofdll.dll, 99 Then you look in %WinDir%\system32\nameofdll.dll bitmap (not the icon but the bitmap) order number 99 (the default dir is %WinDir%\system32\setup, the ..\ takes it back one level to system32) -

Can someone check my Windows Live Messenger True Addon?
ricktendo replied to George King's topic in INF Discussion
You need to tell it how big...add SizeApproximation to your OCEntry section [msmsgs] OptionDesc = "Windows Live Messenger" Tip = "Windows Live Messenger" Modes =0,1,2,3 SizeApproximation = 40756498 ; this translates to 38.8 MB etc etc Or you can add the size of each individual file in [sourceDisksFiles] section [SourceDisksFiles] abssm.dll=1,,532872 conproxy.dll=1,,59768 consync.dll=1,,129400 etc etc -
Is the bug/fix present in Windows 7?

Ayuda con el cambio total del estilo visual de windows XP
ricktendo replied to darker's topic in Questions and Help
No entries.ini? Upload your addon so it can be checked
