Sidebar.INF not INI You will get a pop up, just browse to %WinDir%\system32 for regsvr32.exe highlight it and Select->OK Then it pops up again asking for manifest.xml, browse to Sidebar.cab and the install will start EDIT: Are you on x64???
HKCU,"Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\ShellBrowser","ITBarLayout" Nope, the reason is it might not install. It requires .Net framework 2.0 be installed first
Windows Sidebar Styler is stopping it from running... You forgot to install .Net framework 3.0 (you can get this by integrating RogueSpears Runtimes 2 during RunOnceEx or WPI)For temporary fix for the sidebar problem you can delete these 2 files and that will let your sidebar run. "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\sfc.dll" "%ProgramFiles%\Windows Sidebar\SidebarWpfExt.dll"
Update... I got the Office MRU Gadget working on my PC. If you want the MSI to ignore what version of Windows and install it on XP you can easily fix that. Open the MSI in Orca and delete the LaunchCondition table (right click on it and select Drop Table...) Make sure you use the correct language gadget for your specific version of XP. (en-US will work on any language) 5128 Yes I can make one without gadgets but I'm too lazy to do it now, you are going to have to live with the way it is for now.
yadzil I need more info not just it wont work, I need a detail of any error you might be getting. Puntoboy I don't think it can, many have tried before and it has not worked. nino1969 can I have a link to the gadget installer?
Extract 7zipAddOnName.rar then the 7zip.cab thats inside to subfolders of the same name Download and replace the 7z.dll that is in the extracted 7zip.cab folder Repack the cab and zip as it was before and done.
I do not mind you posting your problem here, if I know the problem then I can probably help... But that is way out of my league. I suggested you post it there because its where the actual creator of Alky for Apps takes bug reports and can help you much better than I can.
