<WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> wont work for product key, can confirm it. EDIT: But actually it should, according to this: http://technet.micro...28WS.10%29.aspx So I used your XML, chose wrong edition, key doesnt match...setup cannot be completed... Altough error is a bit different: Makes me wondering, what the hell is: C.\Windows\Panther\unattend.xml ? Theres no such a file, if I copy autounatended.xml manually to DVD root... At least XML itself is fixed now
-
Yes, Legolash knows it s still broken, but we have solution coming already... Also, its broken only if you choose AnyCPU as archidecture.
-
I will try: <WillShowUI>OnError</WillShowUI> Will report It takes about 15 minutes to make iso and install it on my 3.6Ghz Q6600
-
Installed Ultimate x64 with your XML file, and it all "Worked Like a charm"... :dancing: 1. Choosing Language 2. Choosing Edition 3. Choosing Partition All the rest went fully unattended like it should...also user was succesfully logged in...and no EULA was shown and additional questions were asked... :w00t: Nope, the pleasure is all mine
-
Yeah, I feel real stoopid already... Because I have Licences (Retail and couple of OEMs) for Home Premium on my Hardware, its a bit habbit you know...
-
Damn...will retry...basically I use default keys for testing... will report back... I used Home Premium...
-
Will test it, did you update your file, because last test it failed to install...? It didnt show EULA, but had another issue: EDIT: Now I see, it failed, because you used just Random number for product key...
-
@myselfidem maybe you can look at Legos created file and help us fix it, so Unattended Creator could output correct file... Definately were having somekind of ordering issue...if archidecture is AnyCPU... :g:
-
Yes I have AnyCPU set (you saw that file yourself earlier), will test your XML file right away... Will report back... approx 15 minutes EDIT: At least EULA didnt show up, installing.... EDIT v2: Error...couldnt install...

Strangely this very same file attached before (tested by Legolash2o), works excellent on x86 but fails on some parts on x64... So it is still must be Unatended Creator and produced file...only thing is , I cannot figure out why it is so. Both sections of the produced file are Identical, still x64 part fails to accept Eula and define Network and Update settings also Autologon user fails...
-
OK! I downloaded new clean source from links provided by W7Toolkit, copied Autounattended.xml manually. Still got EULA prompt, unattended file is the very same, that Lego already tested and confirmed working... Am I nuts or something...already tried everything... :g: EDIT: Will try now on x86 image to see, if this very same XML will work there...
-
Nope, I use separate x64 SP1 and x86 SP1 ISO images ripped from my "Retail Box" as clean source... Only modfication those ISO`s have is, that ei.cfg has been removed, to gain access to all versions.
-
Will try it, when I get home... Anyway thanks for all the help, great tool... it already replaced all other sort of stuff in my "Windows Installation Toolbox" :guitar:
-
Yes, thats the only difference between what I did and what you did, with that file. I always used AIO to handle it, you copied it into "clean" image DVD root. Seems like Apply screws something up in image. Even if I use clean image, I will be greeted with EULA, Network and Update pages from OOBE... :g: (I always start with modifying on clean source) Ofcourse, thats the reason also, why I didnt find anything wrong in my XML, because there isnt any... :dancing: Legolash2o thx for your time, now at least I know that I have to copy it always manually, to get it to work
-
@Legolash2o you didnt saw the EULA also you didnt had to specify Network Location? It seems to me, if you apply this file into image, it will change something, so you always have it acting same way... I tested it this way, took my "applied" image, replaced unattended file with one that includes partitioning...and guess what actually it didnt wipe disk and didnt partition anything. Acted a very same way, as with previous file... :g: Installed VM and tried to apply new unattended with W7Toolkit, same behavior...you get earliest "settings"... (from first unnatended.xml that you applied) Basically I bet it will work correctly, if you replace apply function with only copy function. Apllying it seems to break some things, at least for me... Even if I use clean image, i will be greeted with EULA, Network and Update pages from OOBE...

Not working: http://www.wincert.n...dpost__p__79229 - Created with Unnatended Creator (but already applied into image) - For me, nothing seems to be wrong...but its not working. Basically I dont have a fully working set yet... Cannot create new one "untouched" also at the moment (I`m at work and dont have Windows PC available at the moment). W7Toolkit just doesnt run on Wine (yeah I know, NET framework needed, etc)
-
Basically same, if I use the one , created with Unatended Creator. I`ll try to put together that Unattended.xml by hand, to see what will happen then. (only with settings that doesnt work). So far I havent found anything wrong with Unatended Creator outputted file, so I cannot really say, why its ignoring some of the settings... Maybe its ordering in that file or something like that... :g: OT: RT7Lite has the very same issue, with unatended. (Network location and Update settings are ignored in XML and asked every time). Altough I`m not using it anymore.
-
@myselfidem you should warn users, that your XML also erases whole disc and repartitions it. BTW, can you post example, how to format only two partitions on single HDD machine. eq. Disk 0 Part 1 nad Part 2. (System and Windows Install one), but leave third one (user data) untouched? BTW I still havent had success aplying unattended via W7Toolkit, so I guess I have to do it all manually
-
Hmm...its getting a bit frustrating already, whatever I try, it seems that EULA, Network Location and also Update settings wont get applied... Also, cannot get autologon to work anymore, if I have more than one user defined...still I cannot figure out, what is wrong with my XML, all seems like it should be... Will try to create new one with WSIM later, maybe that would work...
-
Nope, but definately is useful, if you have SSD+HDD Combo. SSD sizes are still a bit limited, comparing to their prices... I also know that script, but somekind of a reason, it corrupted user profiles and produced whole list of issues... :g:
-
@myselfidem it isnt a problem. Also doing this for years, had no issues so far and also I`m aware of its risks. Also it doesnt affect updates and service packs. At least in practice. Its the only way that MS actually is supporting to move Users stuff away from system drive. Moving after user is created, will introduce multiple issues, duplicate folders will emerge, etc... Also its not advisable to move any user data folders post install (even MyDocuments), because if you install "hard coded" app, you will have duplicate folders. (Samsung KIES is just one annoying exanmple, it will produce secondary MyDocuments folder, always to C:\Users\Username\). If you do it via unattended, it doesnt produce those issues, because all symbolic links and registry keys will be updated and changed accordingly

I always use AIO tool for all image manipulating operations. Wim Manager I use only rarely and only when I need to merge/remove OS images. OK, copying manually is fine, but for some odd reason, some of W7Toolkit versions did it automatically... EDIT: Copied file manually, made new ISO (based with old one)...ran virtualbox... still asks accepting EULA, Network Location and Update Settings? Also autologin one of the users didnt succeed altough users were actually created. (Image is x64 if it matters) Autounattend.xml
-
Seems like Unattended is definately broken, now it asks even EULA, and every single OOBE question. Made new one with last version, same problem... :g: EDIT: Actually found out, that xml didnt get copied into DVD root again...
