  1. Spinrite sucks horribly. We used to use it at the shop but all it did was take up time and do absolutely nothing. If your drive died or is even dying, don't use it. Stop using it completely. Follow this guide: http://wiki.djlizard.net/Articles/Data_recovery
  2. Did you try to middle click the link?
  3. Never had any issues with it here. Since IPB fixed it, this feature has worked great.
  4. It installed and works flawlessly on my server. But on my main pc it doesn't load the tray icon and despite having told it that I only want the firewall, it installed Defense+...
  5. I've been recommending Comodo Firewall Pro. It's an excellent firewall. Use 2.4 for the time being, as v3 has many bugs still, despite the fact it's a public release.
  6. I've liked PerfectDisk for a long time. It always made everything extremely fast. Right now I'm trying a demo of Diskeeper 2008.
  7. Yeah it's just a myth.
  8. It's also not legal. One of those who posted was told to remove it because they breached the Non-Disclosure Agreement.

    Flag Hack

    index.html for the win.
  10. I used to use it all the time, I mean daily at work and at least two to five times a month at home on my network. There is a news report on my site about why AutoPatcher got the takedown notice and it's even appearing on Digg! Links: http://www.lunarsoft.net/ http://forums.lunarsoft.net/topic/2215-autopatcher-receives-a-takedown-notice/ http://digg.com/microsoft/The_reason_behin...takedown_notice
  11. Leave the services alone. They are there for a reason and do not consume memory like many people falsely speculate. There is no beneficial gain in disabling your services.
  12. I wouldn't want to risk it. If they get infected by getting the file from here, they may very well blame you and the site. But it's your site and your risk.
  13. You may want to remove that... Links: Zip and Exe. Several results of trojans/worms and other suspicious results.
  14. Aw, this is no longer true. Neither one are valid.
  15. OEM. Same as retail but cheaper.

    The lay off

Mr. Smith owned a small business. He had two employees, Sarah and Jack. They were both extremely good employees - always willing to work overtime and chip in where needed. Mr. Smith was looking over his books one day and decided that he wasn't making enough money to warrant two employees and he would have to lay one off. But both Sarah and Jack were such good workers he was having trouble finding a fair way to do it. He decided that he would watch them work and the first one to take a break would be the one he would lay off. So, he sat in his office and watched them work. Suddenly, Sarah gets a terrible headache and needs to take an aspirin. She gets the aspirin out of her purse and goes to the water cooler to get something to wash it down with. Mr. Smith follows her to the water cooler, taps her on the shoulder and says, "Sarah, I'm going to have to lay you or Jack off." And Sarah says, "Can you jack off? I have a headache!" *
  17. Server 2003. SP2 is coming for it. Unfortunately with that hardware you really cannot do much at all... :\
  18. . Almost catchy.(English version)
  19. I should show my chat with Gateway asking for a BIOS upgrade for my server the other day. Took over an hour, never got the software to perform the flash and was told it was due to Windows, then my motherboard.
  20. I always use http://www.lunarsoft.net for my homepage
  21. Finally a smart Mac user: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16873608/
  22. Lame. Too many gripe about Windows "copying" things, yet similar things happen every day with tons of things.
  23. "Simple" -- Yeah, he is. Stupid idiot. I hate these morons.
  24. Happy birthday!
