  1. You might want to mention in the first post somewhere that the utilities in this addon are not free, but costs $39.95 USD to register. http://www.wintools....rder/index.html
  2. No. But this is what happens when you reach the pinnacle of perfection. No additions or bug fixes and nobody reports any problems. Seriously though, the natural evolution of this is with dougiefresh's GUI xpTSP.
  3. Yes, the download link in the first post doesn't work. Here's a link to current drivers for all OS. (select link for "Drivers" or "Utilities, Tools and Examples") http://downloadcente...2-bit+floppy%22 Make sure you select the correct one. For current-series boards, the link is here. http://downloadcente...=18860〈=eng
  4. Well, not really. The difference between 8.56.*** and 8.561.*** is just a minor bugfix, not even a revision. 8.56 8.561 8.562 8.57 8.571 8.58 8.59 8.591 8.592 etc. So while 8.593.100 should work fine, in your test, it doesn't. So trash it. I don't trust the output of "driver genius".
  5. Newer does not always mean better. If the older driver works, stick with it.
  6. Yup, that's definitely oil. If you hear the affected fans making a "growling" noise, definitely take them back to the store (you might get lucky and they'll swap them out). Antec fans are good, but not the best. Lots of good fans here to look for: http://www.quietpc.com/gb-en-gbp/products/120mmfans Reviews (from 2007): http://www.silentpcreview.com/article63-page2.html
  7. For the record, I have the Scythe Mugen (not the mugen2). It's a massive cooler! The Katana3 looks interesting though. If you're worried about cooling capability with these tower-style coolers, don't be. But you can always reverse the rear-facing fan so it blows in, then build a duct to carry the cool air from the rear fan, to the heatsink, then out the top fan. The problem with this design is the rest of the case air may go stagnant.
  8. I'm not a big fan (no pun) of the "top-down" coolers. Generally those are better suited to flat desktop (horizontal) cases that don't take advantage of natural heat convection (heat rises). Tower cases where the mobo is mounted vertically don't need the additional cooling around the cpu area because of the heat tendency to "rise" across the components on it's way to the "top". You could do what I did here and get rid of the excess fans. More fans == more noise. One of the most enjoyable games I've played. I still have it!
  9. Actually, it is in active development by the original creator...Vier! it's up to version 1.9.9.97 now. http://siginetsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5 And Cr
  10. Code-named "Vail". More info: http://www.windows-now.com/blogs/robert/windows-home-server-v2-leaked-screenshots.aspx Microsoft beta download link: http://connect.microsoft.com/WindowsHomeServer
  11. The current version of WHS is based on the Server 2003 core. I'm waiting for the next iteration of WHS (before I purchase any hardware) which will be based on the server 2008 core. M$ has a trial download from their connect site available. Looks very promising.
  12. That's correct. None of the .net installers from onepiece will be listed in add/remove programs. That's by design. I don't agree with that philosophy. But that is how onepiece wants it.
  13. Those errors have nothing to do with the updatepack. Those are known errors when using Yumeyao's "Clean style" IE8 addon. If you want zero errors, then you also need to include Yumeyao's "fix addon" which will delete those entries. Or use his "No setuperr style" addon. All can be found here: http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7778
  14. Only one? Cheapskate!
  15. http://www.digikey.com/ Their catalog is freaking huge and I guarantee they'll have what you're looking for. But you'll get killed on the per-item shipping costs since they usually sell bulk items at a discount (bags of 100 units, etc.). I've ordered from them before. They will have the one item you need that nobody else carries! Is this to repair the DC input/charging jack on the notebook? I've repaired about a dozen Toshibas with the same broken DC jack problem.
  16. Google is your friend! :google_lt: http://technet.micro...28WS.10%29.aspx
  17. Wow! That was quick! Don't you sleep Rick?
  18. New version 5.5.0 is out. http://www.lavalys.com/support/downloads/everest-ultimate-edition-v550
  19. Well, sometimes fighting & winning against malware is very satisfying as well. But when time is money (or you feel lazy), then the "nuke from orbit" option is simply the best.
  20. With some malware, a nuke/reinstall is the only viable option. I mean really, if you do manage to clean a system, how much would you trust a previously-compromised system with your personal info? Given the option, I always format/reinstall. It's quicker in the long run.
  21. No, Kel's correct. There's no space. %ProgramFiles(x86)% is the correct term.
  22. I made a new source using uberpack 15.2 and now I get an advanced .inf failure error on first desktop load. Uberpack v15 didn't have this error and that's all I changed. I'll rebuild again to see if it wasn't a fluke. *Edit Confirmed. 15.2 causes the failure. Unfortunately I deleted my local copy of Uberpack v15 and you removed it from the server so it's no longer available.
  23. Are you talking about the nation flags under each person's profile? I wouldn't miss them.
  24. No news is good news? I haven't tried it yet.
  25. I would split the integrations into two separate tasks. First do #1. Close nlite. Then begin #2. Integration #1 User_Hidden Post SP3 OnePiece Net Framework 1.1 Onepiece WMP 11 OnePiece IE8 Ricktendo Sidebar Integration #2 Ricktendo MCE 2005 Ricktendo Win7 MCE
