I just bought a Logitech G500 and it's pretty nice. Stay away from cordless/wireless mice unless you absolutely have to have one. You'll always have better responsiveness and control with a wired mouse. 'Click' problems can sometimes be cleared by giving the buttons a thorough cleaning. Remove the mouse shell, clean the contacts with IPA (IsoPropol Alcohol) and dry completely. I had a Logitech MX700 (wireless) for years before the left button broke. Then I had a Microsoft wireless mouse and it was garbage. I'm told that Razor mice are also good. But I've never tried one. For keyboards, SteelSeries are awesome!

[AddOn] Media Center 2005 (English) January 24 2012
Mr_Smartepants replied to ricktendo's topic in OS Transformation Packs
My answers: 1) I've never tried it. 2) This addon converts Pro to MCE. If you already had activated the OS with a Pro key, it will no longer be valid and you must activate again using a MCE key. -
Actually since I work for the US military but live in the UK I still maintain an APO box at the local base. Very handy for saving $$ in shipping from Amazon/Newegg. PM me. Holy Cow Lego! That's a beast! That beats my primary tower system! What chipset does that have? If it's an Intel z68 then you can enable RAID caching between the SSD/HDD.

If you're willing to make the trip down to Cambridgeshire (4hr drive one way), you can have an old Toshiba Satellite Pro A60EN I have collecting dust. It all works, but it's really slow (runs XP). Toshiba Specs: Celeron 2.8GHz 256MB RAM 40GB 4200rpm HDD ATI something graphics Circa 2002 Or for 100 squid you can have my trusty Gateway M505 (Has XP but will run Win7). So do these new ie9 installers include the cumulative security updates? Or is the latest one still required?

Yeah, it was really weird. No I didn't have a settings.txt in that folder at the time. My W7 working folder (C:\Tools\W7)just has the following subfolders "iso, mount, source, updates". I dragged the W7T app to my W7 folder and after that first run there's a settings.txt and MountLog.log. It's like it prepopulated the settings and just went on a rampage . The settings file had the default C:\W7T\*whatever* throughout (which I now don't use). BTW, my image is OK. I just tested it in virtualbox. Yeah, that was bizarre. It hasn't happened since. *Edit Here's the content of the mountlog [2812] FIOReadFileIntoBuffer:(1468): The system cannot find the file specified. [2812] UnmarshallImageHandleFromDirectory:(432): The specified directory is not a valid mounted directory. [2812] WIMGetMountedImageHandle:(2427): The specified directory is not a valid mounted directory.

I just tried 1.3.0.28alpha. I haven't used W7T in about 6 months so I was eager to see what changed...a LOT. Anyway, I opened the All-in-one tool and without me clicking anything else it automatically found one of my W7 source folders, and the WIM manager started rebuilding my images without asking. WTH? Is that intended? My image was previously working fine. I'm testing now because I don't know what the WIM manager did to it. *Edit Oh, and WIM manager declared my mount folder (which was empty at the time) as "Corrupted". Very odd. :g: ...and now my mount folder is gone! What's going on here?

XPtsp GUI v3.0.0.26 - February 27, 2012
Mr_Smartepants replied to dougiefresh's topic in XP Theme Source Patcher
I just wanted to let you know of a nagging bug with XPtsp GUI v3.0.0.18. Selecting "Use Professional visual theme" on either Home or MCE sources does nothing. Both Home and MCE will use their own respective XPtsp themes regardless if that option is checked or not. -
Simple renaming ei.cfg to ei.cfg.bak achieves the same as deleting it but allows you to restore it later.

I wrote about my setupcomplete.cmd here: http://forum.driverp...pic.php?id=5199 Adding it should be as simple as adding a line: IF EXIST %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64 start /wait WUSA %CDROM%\updates\Windows6.1-KB2533552-x64.msu /quiet /norestart IF NOT EXIST %SystemRoot%\SysWOW64 start /wait WUSA %CDROM%\updates\Windows6.1-KB2533552-x86.msu /quiet /norestart But to be honest I haven't tried this. A description of the .msu installation process using WUSA is here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/934307

\sources\$oem$\$$\Setup\scripts\setupcomplete.cmd That's how I install all the .NET 4 updates.
