  7. OK, I just reformatted back to XP. XPCD I made) It seems like my processor is not running as well as it was, so I am trying to figure out if it is a issue with the OS or if there is something wrong with my hardware. So is there any programs out there that will detect a issue with a processor, hardrive or RAM? Thanks. Well, I found CPU Tester Pro 4. Seems like it takes 6 hours to test so I will test tonight. If you know of anything else please let me know.

  9. OK, I am using Vista, I installed XP, did the repair to get back to Vista. Now I am trying to use Easy BCD to add XP to the boot loader. How will I do that?

  11. I came across this last night. One of the many claims Microsoft makes for Windows Longhorn is that it wil launch applications 15% faster than Windows XP does currently. This is down to improvements in the Prefetch functionality. There's no need to wait until Longhorn arrives; this improvement is already in Windows XP thanks to Service Pack 2. It just needs to be turned on. To enable super prefetch: * Use a registry editing tool to navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentCo ntrolSet\Contro l\Session Manager\Memory Management\PrefetchParameters * Insert a value with the following details: Data Type: DWORD Value Name: EnableSuperfetch Value: 1 Reply With Quote

Any info you have or links will help. I was thinking about trying/testing it but don't know anything about it. Thanks in advance for my stupidity.
