See update at the top of the first post. In the meantime as bphlpt suggests, here is an excellent updated MSE alternative for your WTK needs. http://www.wincert.net/forum/topic/11016-repak-microsoft-security-essentials-x86x64-45216-intl/

alfire's solution looks good, if all you want to do is remove the symbolic links from the task bar. -
How to remove Media Player from Taskbar by default?
yogurt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit
Do you want to disable WMP or just remove the icon from the task bar? Here are some examples on how to disable WMP which also removes the icon from the taskbar. To service an offline image, specify the location of the mounted image directory. For example, type: Dism /Image:C:\test\offline /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:MediaPlaybackDism /Image:C:\test\offline /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:WindowsMediaPlayerDism /Image:C:\test\offline /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:MediaCenterDism /Image:C:\test\offline /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:OpticalMediaDiscThe same can be done to a live system, for example you can service the image at the time of installation with an answer file. for using DISM in setupcomplete.cmd like this. Dism /online /Disable-Feature /FeatureName:MediaPlaybackor Dism /online /Apply-Unattend:C:\test\answerfiles\myunattend.xml -
Update April 13, 2014 I will no no longer be updating my add ons which are found throughout this forum. all files will eventually be deleted. Moving forward, I need my online storage for other projects. It was a pleasure to work with Win Toolkit. It is certainly a workhorse that i want in my Deployment Kit. Thanks everyone. I will continue to visit for as long as this project remains active. I really like the community here. PEACE OUT! Minimal iTunes installation 11.0.2.26 x86/x64 (Tweaked) Apple ITunes is primarily a program to play different types of media, but it is also required if you want to backup an IPod/IPad/IPhone or sync your emails, notes, bookmarks etc over USB with your PC. The iTunes installer is provided by Apple as an .exe wrapper for a group of MSI's that are all automatically installed when running the regular iTunes setup wizard. However depending on your use case you don't actually need all of them. To get rid of at least some of those "extra" programs I removed AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, Bonjour[64].msi and SetupAdmin.exe. Not all necessary changes to the setup packages can be made by at command line level, therefore the MSI installers have been modified by applying several Transforms (MST) to the MSI package which I explain in more detail below. The end result is a lean, minimal and tweaked iTunes installation that works for the majority of users, including those of you who own an iPod, iPhone or iPad. Optional Switch :: Apple Mobile Device Support Apple Mobile Device Support is optional and only necessary if you want to connect an IPod, IPad or IPhone. Run the installer with the [/ai] switch to instalITunes with Apple Mobile Device Support. Thanks again, I'm starting to understand and it's becoming quite clear. I would appreciate it If you could just give one last look at the syntax of the following 'config' before i post it. Thanks in advance. Also I was wondering -- If the stock installer from Apple does not require a restart when installed on a live system if I could do away with the /norestart switch? ;!@Install@!UTF-8!;Default iTunes ONLY w/o prgress barRunProgram="AppleApplicationSupport.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"AppleApplicationSupport.mst\""RunProgram="x64:AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.mst\""RunProgram="x64:iTunes64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"iTunes64.mst\"";[/ai] iTunes/Bonjour w/o progress barAutoInstall="AppleApplicationSupport.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"AppleApplicationSupport.mst\""AutoInstall="x64:AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.mst\""AutoInstall="x64:Bonjour64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"Bonjour64.mst\""AutoInstall="x64:iTunes64.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS=\"iTunes64.mst\""GUIMode="2"MiscFlags="4";!@InstallEnd@!

Thanks for the insight, just one question, will the SFX installer stop with an error if the tranforms cannot be found? Also, if there are no spaces, then this would also work? ;!@Install@!UTF-8!RunProgram=AppleApplicationSupport.msi /qn /norestart TRANSFORMS="AppleApplicationSupport.mst";!@InstallEnd@!

@ricktendo Rick, can you check the syntax for the following. I keep getting confused with when to and when not to use quotes and / characters. Also I was wondering if the code can be shortened or cleaned-up in any way? For example can I leave the msiexec out? Any insight you can provide is much appreciated. ;!@Install@!UTF-8!RunProgram="hidcon:\"%SystemRoot%\system32\msiexec.exe\" /i AppleApplicationSupport.msi TRANSFORMS="AppleApplicationSupport.mst" /qn";!@InstallEnd@!OR;!@Install@!UTF-8!RunProgram="hidcon:msiexec.exe /i AppleApplicationSupport.msi TRANSFORMS=AppleApplicationSupport.mst /qn";!@InstallEnd@!OR;!@Install@!UTF-8!RunProgram="hidcon:msiexec.exe /i AppleApplicationSupport.msi TRANSFORMS="AppleApplicationSupport.mst" /qn";!@InstallEnd@!
