news search
i tried using the search on the front page and got an error message: Your client does not have permission to get URL /cse?cx==windows+7&ad=w9&num=10&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.wincert.net%2Fnews%2F52-google-search%2F1848-google-search.html%3Fcx%3Dpartner-pub-0146750220125597%253Ai7p7ckf133u%26cof%3DFORID%253A10%26ie%3DISO-8859-1%26q%3Dwindows%2B7 from this server i tried a few different words as an experiment and got basically the same error message

NOD32 v5 beta is out
i cant believe i'm saying this.. but i hear good things about norton 360. apparently they finally got the message and reworked the entire software. takes up much less resources and scans pretty fast compared to how it used to be. its been a while since i bothered researching which av software is the best though.

MSDN software question
ok i have another question. my parents just got a hp computer, but its got a ton of bloat and extra crap on it. i was wanting to try wiping it clean and installing just w7+sp1 but not sure where to start. there is no recovery dvd, but a recovery partition. i think if i make a backup dvd it would copy EVERYTHING (bloat software included ) so am i limited to just working with w7 source supplied by hp? i've built my own computers since forever.. so i dont know much about software supplied by pre-built computer companies :tired:

MSDN software question

MSDN software question

MSDN software question
i hope its ok to ask these questions, but i have some problems i cant figure out in regards to msdn once upon a time i had a subscription to the msdn software through academic alliance http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/academic/bb250591. this was over a year ago. well windows 7 had just come out and i played around with it but put it aside and went back to xp. fast forward to now, and i feel like completely transitioning to w7. my question is, can i still use the msdn software? and if so, will my keys i originally got work with w7+sp1? if the answer is yes to both.. then (here is the part i'm not sure if its ok to ask about) is there a way to re-download the software from my account? or can i use and w7 disk? my account expired about 4 months ago, i think. so its very possible that i wont be able to use this anymore, but i thought i'd ask about it

Internet Explorer 9 vs Google Chrome
hmm according to this http://www.engadget.com/2011/04/14/microsoft-confirms-ie10-wont-run-on-vista-millions-of-ie9-user/ ie10 wont work on vista.. which is strange b/c i thought w7 and vista were pretty similar.

Keyboard only allows a few keys to work
a lot of manufacturers use identical parts. i dont know what model your computer is, but i think you'd have a higher probability of finding a whole keyboard unit (keyboard + cable) than just the keyboard cable. have you tried searching for the part number? if you can find it somewhere on the keyboard?
