  1. So, it's a problem with the GUI on my end. :g: Thanks for the answer!
  2. Isn't this tab supposed to have a picture on the left side of the window?
  3. Thanks for the information, Bober. I've got several problems that I need to solve before I can release the next version. In order to solve the problem of files not getting properly replaced, I'm going to have to rewrite the patching code. I wanted to put this off until much later, when I've got a good portion of the rest of the code done. But, chances are that the changes that need to be made will make the patching process go faster. I'm running a live patch on my system right now. Hopefully, it will be patched correctly..... I'll report back once the script is finished..... EDIT: Patching on my 2.4GHz quad-core with 4GB RAM took 449 seconds (about 6 8 minutes). I noticed that there weren't as many SFC prompts as there were in the VM.... Rebooting my live machine now. EDIT2: Some files apparently got patched. Others apparently didn't. So, I'm going to have to rewrite code this weekend..... What fun I'll have! (NOT!)
  4. I'll check them again.... It will be this afternoon (it's 4:30am here). Regarding oeminfo.ini, there are some glaring problems that need fixed, and not just the ones you've mentioned to me. I need to rewrite that function.... Regarding shell32.dll, it gets replaced during a live install on a VM during my testing. And personally, I'd rather not kill Explorer..... Regarding the cursors, I thought I fixed that.....
  5. What's Changed in v1.4.5.5: - Blocked bootscreen color selection if user doesn't want it patched. - Blocked Task Manager color selection if user doesn't want it patched. - Blocked Page 5 from showing if no options are available to set. - Modified code so that Live Install and Integration both use DrvSpace.exe. - Enabled Royale visual theme restoration upon uninstall. - Streamlined JPG to BMP conversion function. - Removed the dependancy on the need for an external XPtsp.ini file. - Removed MSC files from Component Selection to remove crash situation after patching. - Information is now held in Current.ini instead of Patched.ini, going to use a similar format. - MD5 hashes are stored in MD5.ini for future use. - Added Page 9 to handle running the GUI on a system that is already patched. - Currently Page 9 supports only removal of XPtsp. Future plans is for repatching files whose resources have changed. - Languages folder is copied to the installation folder. IMPORTANT!! The current version will not allow you to install a new version without uninstalling the currently installed version. I plan to make it so that it will update resources that have been modified, however, it make take a while for the code to be developed. Note: Mona has found a bunch of issues with the GUI. So it is my hope that I'll be able to eliminate each of the problems that were found tomorrow. Thanks for all the bug reports, Mona! (No sarcasm intended!) Mona: I've updated the XPtsp.7z archive in first post with the new script. EDIT: I think I've solved some of the problems. I'll work on the rest today. (It's 4:30am here)
  6. Mona: Ok, I've removed the option to install MSC files. Now they will be installed without user permission..... that and a few other changes will be released soon....
  7. I understand that not replacing MSC files somehow causes that error. What do I do to reproduce that error? (Please tell me how you got to that error screen. It is assumed that the patching has been completed.)
  8. Um.... I think DriveSpace.exe was supposed to replace DrvSpace.exe. It just didn't get named properly.....
  9. I know about the Page 5 issues with bootscreen and taskmanager scheme selection. I should have them fixed with the next release. EDIT: Oh! I forgot to include the Task Manager screenshots. Please redownload the XPtsp.7z file referenced 2 posts ago. EDIT2: Added at bottom of first post a section for "those on a slow internet connection".
  10. Mona: You'll have to replace XPtsp.exe with the contents of the 7z inside the SFX. I'll also post the changed executable in the first post. Download link: http://xptsp.filetap.com/Downloads/XPtsp.7z MD5: 5c2d3c75d3a0273b73305a6843ac15da, Size: 593 kb
  11. What's Changed in v1.4.5.4: - Re-removed cursors from USER32.DLL.RES. Somehow they didn't get removed properly.... - Added Task Manager screenshots for the GUI preview (Page 5) - Adjusted preview windows so that no title is shown in either window. - Fixed small bug in bootscreen preview so that it works properly. - Added code before Page 1 for language selection. Doesn't matter because multi-language support isn't present. - Code modified so that Live Patching is the default if no i386 folder exists where the SFX is executed from. - Wrote the "About XPtsp" code, link found in bottom-left corner of Pages 1 thru 5. - Added "/TASKMGR:[n]" switch to select Task Manager color scheme. ([n] is color scheme) - Added "/BOOTSCR:[n]" switch to select bootscreen color scheme. ([n] is color scheme) - Added "/LANG:[n]" switch to select languages. ([n] is language desired)
  12. md5 hash should be 73735ec54c8231785fbd3445ee45cd83. I'll update the first post right now....
  13. What's Changed in v1.4.5.3: - Added about link to bottom-left corner of pages 1 thru 5. - Added back the code to delete resources as specified in the batch version. - Removed cursors from USER32.DLL.RES. - Copied CABLITE.DLL during Live Install to avoid error during next reboot. - Added code to allow user to change color of boot screen in Page 5. - Added code to allow user to change Task Manager theme in Page 5. NOTE: Screenshots for Task Manager are not available yet. I've also updated the screenshot for Page 5. You can see it in the first post.
  14. I don't see a comctl32_ASMS.dll file in the i386, and it's not listed in TXTSETUP or DOSNET, so I don't know why it's being included in the batch version.... The GUI simply includes the same resources that the batch version has, but because the GUI doesn't find comctl32_ASMS.dll in the i386, I don't think that it makes the attempt to patch it.
  15. When I started on the GUI project, my website space was only about 100mb total. So with space at a premium, I decided to use a different method. 7zip was great at compressing stuff, but with my 2.4GHz P4 w/ 768mb RAM, it took forever. Then Comcast upgraded the webspace to 1GB, and I got a better computer. Compressing 210mb of data takes my computer approximately 55 seconds, so WinRAR's ability to add files easily became less of a reason for me to stick with WinRAR. After all, when compressing stuff takes such a short period of time, then space can take the front seat.... in my opinion.
  16. What's Changed in v5.3.5.0: - Web site has been changed to http://xptsp.filetap.com/ - Updating code has been changed to reflect new web site address. - Visit Site code has been changed to reflect new web site address. What's Changed in v5.3.5.1: - Re-included language files. PLEASE NOTE: All versions prior to v5.3.5.0 will not be able to update to the latest version due to the web site change. I inadvertantly deleted the old account for my website and this cannot be undone. So we are kinda stuck with this situation.....
  17. Vista Aero Cursors: History: These cursors are from Windows Vista RTM. They were slightly modified for completeness and distributed by Herby on the NeoWin forum. I've repackaged them for silent installation for Windows XP and should work with RyanVM Integrator and nLite (latter not tested). Download: Cursors.exe MD5: dacc6623fd698c422f2cbfa555b60ee9, Size: 427kb
  18. I finally figured out why the patcher was giving me an error after patching a live system and rebooting. Turns out the CABLITE.DLL wasn't copied to the proper location..... Copying it to that location makes the program work without the error message.
  19. Ah! Answer's that question! Thanks, Bober!
  20. amnesia: I've asked N1K about the attachment issue. Hopefully he can shed some light on that. Nice mod on Task Manager!
  21. I'll make that modification to the GUI. Thanks! Why is the delete lines you made for logonui.exe.res necessary?
  22. What's Changed in v1.4.5.2: - Updated resources to batch v1.4.5.2. - No files to patch within CAB file now posts a message in the log instead of aborting with error. EDIT: Updated first post to reflect changes made to the GUI. Please note that "About XP Theme Source Patcher..." link in bottom-left corner will pull up an "About" window when the code is complete. That string will be shown in every version past this one.
  23. Ruslan: Ok. I'll fix it before releasing v1.4.5.2 to the public. I think it should be an easy fix.....
  24. What's Changed in v1.4.5.1: - Updated resources to batch v1.4.5.1. - Modified Page 4 code to add kernel files to internal array. - Installation Page 7 (Install Finished) renamed to Page 8. - Integration Page 7 (ISO Creation) renamed simply to Page 7. - Removed timer and "view log" button from Page 7, "next" button goes to Page 8. - Completed "/INTEGRATE" command-line switch. - Modified each page so that the GUI builds all information prior to beginning patching. - Made changes to reflect changes to batch file version. (see above post) Note: I'll update the GUI with the updated files once I get them.
  25. I'm getting broken links and mirrors point to v1.4.5 instead of v1.4.5.2.....
