  4. nice!! just used v.15, 17. 21, 23. I cant get the theme to set...gotta be a bug... regards...
  5. cool, on the prompt removal. but any ideas on why she doesn't come up as the default theme? if its working for you it must be something in my integrations or removals, silent installs etc that is preventing its defaulting. as I said the theme is in the installed theme category when you go to personalize, it just doesn't become the default theme unless I then click on it... regards...
  6. lego as I write I am using v.21. I just got a new message "value installtheme exists, overwiite (y) (n)." I said Y. Then another "valuetheme exists, overwrite (y) (n)." I said Y. I'll wait till office installs and let you know what happens with the theme. Is there a way to eliminate the need for an answer to these 2 questions? assuming this works if I have a theme to be installed as default shouldn't WTK know this and just do the overwrite? Why the prompt(s)? well guess what. Not the desired result but now just the plain vanilla blue background instead of the sunsets theme. At least something changed. I was getting the blue windows 7 aero theme before this. should I have answered no to those questions? ps..v.21 knocked over 2 minutes off my creation time. Its definitely faster! I just answered NO to both questions. same results. hmmm do I answer one Yes and the other no and vice-versa? then 2 more vm's to try.. regards..
  7. if you mean on my computer (not the vm) yes latest NVidia driver for 9500gt card. in addition I just tried another vm and used the sunsets theme with no modifications and still it does not default. regards...
  8. I have been using WTK for about 3 weeks now and I have yet been able to get my theme to be the default theme in my custom iso install. I always wind up with the Microsoft blue background standard theme. The custom theme I use is on my computer. I download a Microsoft places and landscapes theme named sunsets. I then make changes to that them such as random, 10 minutes, bold icon and menu fonts and no screensaver. I then save the theme on my computer. In WTK I load that theme and make it the default (BOLD). But it never defaults. Has anyone else experienced this? Any ideas? regards...
  9. SOLVED. the wrong syntax in the silent installer was the problem. everything working now except default them won't default...unk reason.. regards...
  10. I think I may have found the office 2007 problem. not sure. testing on VM now. I think I put a "space" in the silent installer switch. should be /config %APP%\myconfig.xml I had a "space" after the second %...so I got rid of that space and I'm retesting. will let you know how I make out. regards...
  11. the sob just finished and office 2007 DID NOT INSTALL!!! arggggg has to be the xml file or a mistake in the silent installer here is the office 2007 xml...anyone see a problem? <Configuration Product="Enterprise"> <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" /> <!-- <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="Microsoft Office Enterprise Setup(*).txt" /> --> <PIDKEY Value="Removed warez serial!" /> <!-- <USERNAME Value="Customer" /> --> <!-- <COMPANYNAME Value="MyCompany" /> --> <!-- <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> --> <!-- <LIS CACHEACTION="CacheOnly" /> --> <!-- <SOURCELIST Value="\\server1\share\Office12;\\server2\share\Office12" /> --> <!-- <DistributionPoint Location="\\server\share\Office12" /> --> <!-- <OptionState Id="OptionID" State="absent" Children="force" /> --> <Setting Id="Setup_Reboot" Value="Never" /> <!-- <Command Path="msiexec.exe" Args="/i \\server\share\my.msi" QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="after" Execute="install" /> --> </Configuration>
  12. Hello. well I worked on this for 7 hours last night. went to bed at 4am after making my last iso which I did not test. just tested it and walla, I got it to work. I am trying to get office 2007 and office 2010 on a dvd+rDL but I think its 1gb too large. That's another issue. back to office. I think for whatever reason my VL disk had something that WTK did not like. don't know. I downloaded "legally" from wtk iso downloads the retail version of office 2010 32 bit with sp1 professional pro plus. There are tools on the web to convert the retail to volume lic. I followed great instructions from a google search and was able to update office 2010 to sp2 and I have every msp update in my updates folder. as I said its now there perfectly using the proscribed config.xml below. however I now wanted to test office 2007 and now that doesn't work. however when the silent installers were installing (1 of 7, 2 of 7 etc) I waited about 15 secs before I manually selected office 2007 to get installed (I have auto install unchecked). I looked like it was going to install for about 15 seconds and then my desktop started showing up...nada no good. as I write this I am re-doing the install on vm and will choose office 2007 before my other automatic installers finish. I can then tell if its the config.xml file for 2007 or a bug in wtk. will report back in a few minutes. here is the 2010 config.xml. as you can see nothing really gets installed or changed except that display line of code... regards... <Configuration Product="ProPlus"> <Display Level="none" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" /> <!-- <PIDKEY Value="Removed Warez serial" /> --> <!-- <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="Microsoft Office Professional Plus Setup(*).txt" /> --> <!-- <USERNAME Value="Customer" /> --> <!-- <COMPANYNAME Value="MyCompany" /> --> <!-- <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> --> <!-- <LIS CACHEACTION="CacheOnly" /> --> <!-- <LIS SOURCELIST="\\server1\share\Office;\\server2\share\Office" /> --> <!-- <DistributionPoint Location="\\server\share\Office" /> --> <!-- <OptionState Id="OptionID" State="absent" Children="force" /> --> <!-- <Setting Id="SETUP_REBOOT" Value="IfNeeded" /> --> <!-- <Command Path="%windir%\system32\msiexec.exe" Args="/i \\server\share\my.msi" QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="after" Execute="install" /> --> </Configuration> regards...
  13. I just tried it with display as NONE. no good. she started the install and then I was not watching wtk as it progressed. when I went to my VM the installation of my custom iso it was finished but no Microsoft office folder in all programs and no trace of office at all! any other ideas? regards...
  14. hi: I am able to install office 2007 with a config.xml file. cant do it with office 2010 VL proplus. I basically used the same xml file but removed the password. I activate after installation. I also renamed it to 2010myconfig.xml. I am Assuming the name can be anything XML. so I do choose it from the prompt in silent installers but it does not install. I haven't been around during that install to see if it takes some time or WTK finishes quickly. here is the file: <Configuration Product="ProPlus"> <Display Level="basic" CompletionNotice="no" SuppressModal="yes" AcceptEula="yes" /> <!-- <Logging Type="standard" Path="%temp%" Template="Microsoft Office Enterprise Setup(*).txt" /> --> <!-- <USERNAME Value="Customer" /> --> <!-- <COMPANYNAME Value="MyCompany" /> --> <!-- <INSTALLLOCATION Value="%programfiles%\Microsoft Office" /> --> <!-- <LIS CACHEACTION="CacheOnly" /> --> <!-- <SOURCELIST Value="\\server1\share\Office12;\\server2\share\Office12" /> --> <!-- <DistributionPoint Location="\\server\share\Office12" /> --> <!-- <OptionState Id="OptionID" State="absent" Children="force" /> --> <!-- <Setting Id="Reboot" Value="IfNeeded" /> --> <!-- <Command Path="msiexec.exe" Args="/i \\server\share\my.msi" QuietArg="/q" ChainPosition="after" Execute="install" /> --> </Configuration>
  15. lego: I am still having problems with my install. I will report these as bugs though they may not be. might just be that I am doing something wrong but I cannot understand why certain things (below) do not work for me. 1. I still cannot get my theme to default (WHEN I MAKE A HUGE CUSTOM ISO WITH ALL UPDATES , 7 SILENT INSTALLS AND 2 OFFICE PROMPTED INSTALLS) on a dvd realtime or VM. I have gotten it to work with just trying it plain jane ( which is what you might be doing to test it) with nothing else getting integrated etc. Maybe a teamviewer on that to replicate and #3 below. 2. I hope you will really consider taking out the timer for prompted silent installs. I see no need for it. if you see the need please let me know your point of view. 3. you know I have had problems with that language error. it happened again last nite. if I use wud to get all the updates (the latest is 9/9/14) (security, non security, framework 3.51 security, wmp12) as of today and integrate them, then at the very end I get that language error which is frustrating because it happens after about 75 minutes of integration and then that WTK session is basically what Oscar told felix when he threw the linguini on the wall, GARBAGE. I'm pretty sure its related to IE11 cab file or one of the IE11 security or hotfixes. I think that its integrating one of those smaller updates before it integrates ie11? just a guess. regards.. ps I have attached a log from the logs folder...maybe this is the one you need to be helpful? opps says I cant upload this kind of file. tried both editors...
  16. lego: when I used the unattended logon username field it automatically installs a password for that user. I tried to figure that password out and could not until you told me in a personal notification it was SPACEBAR (just hitting the space bar). I don't think any nubie just using the program will know that just like I did not. So the password should either be removed or somehow let it be known to the user. also as we discussed the silent installer for users such as having Office installed but unchecking "install automatically" has what you believe to be a 10 minute timer. if no user interaction then that installer will NOT install. I believe the timer should be removed entirely when using the UNCHECKED install automatically option since installers such as myself may start an install before bed and continue in the morning (just 1 scenario). thx regards...
  17. yes if sp1 is properly slipsteamed it will know that sp1 is part of that ISO
  18. lego, I love TV's.. I just did a small test with v1510. no updates tweaks etc. I just added an office 2010 silent and the NFW 4.5.3 silent with new unattended. now the default theme worked. remember it hasn't been working in my final updated tweaked installations. and the unattended I got to work like this for no password. I leave both name fields blank (unchecked) but in the autologin name's user tab I add a username and display name (no passwords) and use administrator as default. doing it this way there is no password...ahh another 3 hrs of my life! regards..
  19. WTK runonce installer says v.1.5.0.8 in the wtk v.1.5.10 edition. I assume they should match unless the module is separate for some reason.. fyi, regards..
