[Not solved but closed] Error code 999
bphlpt replied to Thiersee's topic in Windows Post-Install Wizard (WPI)
I think because he no longer has the problem, so [closed], but he has no idea why it works now when it didn't earlier [Not solved but]. Cheers and Regards -
XPSP3_QFE_UpdatePack for Windows XP Post-SP3 20160510
bphlpt replied to user_hidden's topic in WPI, nLite and RVM Addons
Yep. Access to Ryan's board has gotten ridiculous. I only get on once every dozen tries at best, and sometimes not for a day or more, like you. I hope he is aware of and is working on the problem. Cheers and Regards -
All of Ricktendo's .NET 4.0 and 4.5 links work for me. You must have some kind of browser or browser extension or ad blocker issue or something. Cheers and Regards

Was an error log created by Win Toolkit? Cheers and Regards

The "source" file for the update will be different sizes depending on whether it is .cab, .msu, or whatever. The "source" files are just a distribution container, the files inside that container are the same. If you were distributing a DVD full of updates, then I think your understanding would be correct. But if I understand the process correctly, once you have installed/integrated that update into your updated AIO OS build, then those updates are all expanded/stripped out of their containers and either replace existing files or are stored in a "install pending" location. In either case, I believe that the format used inside the OS to store those files is independent of the format of the "source" file. I could be wrong, but that is the way I understand it. Cheers and Regards

I think Win2K, and Office 2K, were the last two MS products of their type that didn't "phone home" in any way. Cheers and Regards
-
Quite true since there are more LDR updates than GDR ones. Cheers and Regards
-
I wouldn't think there would be any difference at all to image size, only in time to build it as Lego stated. Cheers and Regards
-
Is there a reason why you want to leave your ActiVirus running while you are making your build? Leaving it run really is both risking a build problem and drastically effecting the speed of the build. Just disconnect from the net while the build is being created if your are concerned about temporarily disabling the AV. Or are you saying that Win Toolkit is not able to correctly tell whether your AV is running or not and that is why you un-checked the "Detect AntiVirus"? Cheers and Regards
-
Yes, use the latest 1.4 version, either from the main WinCert download page, or see the link in Lego's sig if there is a test version available. The 1,5 versions have not existed for about 6 months. Easiest way to donate is through the "Donate" button in Win Toolkit itself. As to the "pre built iso's of win8 with all the updates", no such thing exists. Check your PM. Cheers and Regards

I think so. It is definitely the most recent version posted and it wasn't there yesterday. Cheers and Regards

[Obsolete] Microsoft Camera Codec Pack 16.4.1970.624

I guess your glasses were just dirty. Cheers and Regards -
I did read all your posts, and I also thought it sounded like your USB stick was dying, and your thread title kind of implied... Glad you got it working. Cheers and Regards

[14 Juin 2014] Updates Packs GDR Windows 7 SP1
bphlpt replied to mooms's topic in Windows Vista, Windows 7, et Windows 8.x
FYI, mega for some reason doesn't like my browser, SRWare Iron, which is a version of Chrome, and insists that I need to download Chrome. Admittedly, I'm not using the latest version of Iron, but this is the first time I've run into this. Cheers and Regards -
Best of luck on your exams! Liam, I think it would it be great if at least one time your 'Exclusive ISOs' would include all of Komm's updates as well as those from McRip, including everything such as IE10, XPmode, .NET 4.5, and all the various MS runtimes such as those from here, ie the whole MS nine yards. And maybe even the Enterprise and/or VL versions of Win7 as well. (All without keys of course, except the publicly available trial ones that is.) Just a thought. Cheers and Regards

[Tweaked] Skype 7.18.32.111 (Multilanguage)
bphlpt replied to ricktendo's topic in Installer Repacks
I confirm that link works fine for me using SRWare Iron as my browser. Cheers and Regards -
I have no issues downloading either. I'm not sure about a-drive, but I think mediafire kept blocking ricktendo's files which is why he switched from them. Cheers and Regards

[Addon] Java Runtime Environment 6.0 / 7.0 x86/x64
bphlpt replied to user_hidden's topic in SVCPACK Addons
I think he's asking about using both 6 and 7. I think it used to be necessary to have both the old and new versions of Java installed at the same time, at one point you could have had three versions installed. Today, I don't think it's as important, though I still do it. Other opinions? Cheers and Regards -
That would probably make more sense if he had more than 5 customers over 7 years. Cheers and Regards

Maybe I'm missing something since I'm by no means a javascript expert, but can't the same result be accomplished by adding the "variable definition section", ie: inside config.js, instead of in a separate external "WPI_program_config.js"? If so, it would mean not having to modify core.js, it would eliminate the "extra" file "WPI_program_config.js", and it would still have the same result, wouldn't it? I would think that grouping all the definitions together would be just as convenient as having them in a separate file. The only reason I can see a separate file having an advantage is if the main parts of WPI were burned onto a DVD and the "WPI_program_config.js" file and the addons were in a separate install medium, say a USB key, But if you were going to use a USB key at all, then why not use it for all the WPI files since installation from USB is usually faster than from DVD anyway? As to using the variables in the first place, in addition to their usefulness in a business/corp setting, I personally use variables even in my own coding for my own use as a shortcut or abbreviation and to help minimize the possibility of a coding typo, especially for things that will change, say when a program or addon is updated. As an example, "FlashVersion" is a whole lot shorter and easier to type than "install_flash_player_ax (11.7.700.202)" after all. Just my opinion, and as I said, I could have totally misunderstood the situation. Cheers and Regards

Typically, IF you removed a package cleanly and completely, then an update that effects only the files in that package will not be offered or installed. As sort of an example, and a bad one but it should serve the purpose, if you do not have Office installed, then you are not offered updates for Office. Cheers and Regards

[Rebuilt] .NET Framework 4.5.2 Full x86/x64 (9-19-2014)
bphlpt replied to ricktendo's topic in Installer Repacks
I use the slim version with language packs (80.5 MB), not the rebuilt; the download is from 14.05.2013 and there is no newer! @Thiersee, then I'm confused. Why are you posting in this thread rather than this one, where I assume the version you are trying to use is located? Cheers and Regards
