Windows 8.1 (Blue) coming - a kind of SP1 for 8, only better
bphlpt replied to RicaNeaga's topic in Microsoft Windows 8
What is this exactly that you are offering to upload? If you are offering to upload a version of Windows 8 that you have tweaked, I'm afraid you cannot do that here, activated or not. You are not an authorized distributor for MS, so this will be considered warez. Cheers and Regards -
It is part of Win Toolkit. See either http://www.wincert.net/forum/files/, or http://www.wincert.net/leli55PK/Testing/. Cheers and Regards

Just to eliminate it as the cause, it might also be useful, as a test case, to make a build removing nothing at all. If that doesn't work either, then the removals aren't your problem, but something more basic. Cheers and Regards

If you say that RT7lite works correctly on it's own, I would try to make sure that Win Toolkit works correctly on it's own as well. If they both work correctly on their own, then you must be removing something with RT7Lite that causes some kind of problem with Win Toolkit, is the only thing I can figure. To test that, you could try to use the tools together, but without any removals at all by RT7Lite. (Try using Win Toolkit first, then RT7Lite first if that doesn't work.) If that works, then you could slowly add in a few removals at a time until you find the one(s) that are causing the problem. Good luck! Cheers and Regards

I understand your question, but I don't know if it is possible, or if it would then function without error. I also do not know of any tool that is able to help you to do this. In your Google searches that said that it is possible to do this on Windows 2008 Server, how did they say that it was done? I guess you could try the same process on Windows 7, since it is very similar to 2008. Let us know what you find out. Cheers and Regards

And by "all of the 32bit programs" that includes 32bit versions of runtimes, browsers, etc that all exist and are required for normal operation even if you are running a 64bit version of an OS. Definitely not a very good idea. Cheers and Regards

user expiration on wintoolkit created windows 7 images
bphlpt replied to budgy's topic in Win Toolkit
So, bottom line, it appears this behavior is a byproduct of using autounattend.xml, and NOT anything to do with the use of Win Toolkit. Cheers and Regards -
Correct. Once the setting file has set the download location, it is stored as an absolute location, not a relative location, so moving the program itself will not change things. Letting the program recreate the settings file, or manually editing it, "fixes" things. Glad you got it figured out. Cheers and Regards

how can i make myself a system lock pre installation of windows 7 ?
bphlpt replied to Junqi Ng's topic in Microsoft Windows 7
??? What does that mean? ??? Cheers and Regards -
Thanks. That one works correctly. Cheers and Regards

You were correct. It was the Adf.ly.Redir script I had recently "updated" to v6.1. (I'm using SRWare Iron as my browser.) With it disabled your download link worked as expected. Do you know of a good Adf.ly redirect extension/script that works well with Chrome/Iron? Cheers and Regards

Sorry Rick, but MediaFire has blocked your file again. Cheers and Regards

Sorry, RicaNeaga, but I respectfully disagree. I understand your points, and agree that something stronger than just a date should be used to confirm file changes, but the date can be a very easy "first pass" check. I also do not think that this change will take Lego much time to implement. If I am wrong, then I will agree with your point about Lego having more important things to implement. Cheers and Regards

Oh, agreed, they should be fine. I just prefer to err on the side of caution. Cheers and Regards

Welcome back Liam! Hope things are well with you my friend. OT - I sent you a PM over a month ago that you don't seem to have even read yet for some reason, so when you get a chance... Cheers and Regards

To be safest, I would suggest getting rid of all "-", "=", and " " (space) in all file names and paths and make the paths as short as possible.

Which exact version of Win x64 are you trying to add the languagepack to? Cheers and Regards

@pedilover, Please stop spouting doom and gloom and the sky is falling and Win Toolkit will never be updated again type messages. You've been a member here long enough to know that for every free volunteer software project on this and all other boards folks involvement ebbs and flows with the reaction to RL circumstances. If you don't want to use the product and/or wait that's fine. But please keep your opinions about its future to yourself. Cheers and Regards

Will do, but I do everything I can to avoid it. LOL Cheers and Regards

Regarding the seven issues mentioned here: With the newest upgrade today, here is the status of the seven noted "bugs" above: 1 -- Fixed 2 -- Fixed 3 -- "Fixed" - It will turn "[ url ] link [ /url ]" automatically into "[ url=link ] link [ /url ]" -- [ code ] tags are turned into [ code=auto:0 ], I have no idea why or what that means or if there are other options, but they seem to work the same as [ code ] so... -- If you do much copying of text into your post in WYSIWYG mode, you will very likely end up with a lot of "extra" HTML tags such as [ size ] and [ color ] that won't show up unles you switch to BBCode Mode. You can choose to ignore them or clean them up manually. You can also prevent them from occurring by doing your paste while in BBCode mode so that only the raw text is copied, not the formatting. 4&5 -- Spacing issues seem to be a bit better and CTRL-Z seems to get formatting back sometimes when it didn't before, so there have been improvements If you are trying to add a blank line before or after a [ code ] or [ quote ] block, sometimes making sure the "blank" line has at least one "space" on it will help. Adding this "blank" line in WYSIWYG mode also sometimes helps. 6&7 -- No change. They say that it's out of their control, but since we know that different versions of the same board software (such as the one that MSFN uses) do not suffer from the same problems, we can assume they just chose to not address these issues for whatever reason. No new bugs have been noted, so far... By the way, I have, on occasion, had "Internal Server Error" problems when making a post and my entire post was then lost. The reason for this has never been found. So regardless if you are making and/or editing a post, I would strongly suggest doing a CTRL-A CTRL-C in BBCode mode before you press "Post" or "Save Changes", especially if you are dealing with a post that is long and/or complicated. This way you will be able to copy the post back into the edit box and try again if anything goes wrong. You could also choose to use an external editor to compose your post if you prefer. A couple of options are mentioned in the thread that NIM referenced above (Notepad works fine if you're comfortable composing your post in BBCode mode). Cheers and Regards

@Lukes, You keep making posts to old threads that even if they are remotely on topic, which this one is not, are not requested or necessary. And you do not respond to direst questions to you. Why are you doing this? Cheers and Regards

But mooms, if his method works to install the French language pack, then that is pertinent to this thread, isn't it? Cheers and Regards
