Which then gets back to ricktendo's suggestion/request to optionally enable the operation of KUC via Win Toolkit, to make it easier for those not familiar with KUC to better utilize it. Cheers and Regards

Only the OP, or a mod/admin can do this. If you are the OP, then click the "Edit" button in the first post in the thread as if you are going to edit the first post. When the edit box opens, click the "Use Full Editor" button at the bottom of the edit box. When the full editor opens, make whatever changes you need in the "Topic Title" box, then click "Save Modified Post" at the bottom of the Edit Post block. Cheers and Regards

The idea of having various profiles, or predefined lists of software that you want to install out of all the software that is currently available on your install medium, does indeed have merit. In addition to the enterprise, or even small business, situation that x23piracy described, I can also see how it would be useful for family or friend situations when they come to you for computer support, RicaNeaga. I'm sure that it is very likely that your mom or grandfather or aunt Sue would probably have a different list of software they are likely to want or need vs your cousin Jimmy who is in college, or 7 year old sister Mary, or your gaming buddy Ralph. And just because you select or load a particular profile wouldn't mean you are stuck with that list of apps and only that list of apps to install, it could just be a starting point. In other words, if you find yourself always installing the same 6, or 30, apps, but you also sometimes add a few others, you could make those 6,or 30, apps a profile. At install time, you could choose that profile, which would be just like filling in those 6, or 30, check-boxes, and then you could still either check or un-check, whichever other apps you want before telling it to "go". With such a system, you should be able to create a profile whenever you realize you are going to have a need for one, whenever you are given responsibility for a new department, or relative, for example. Then when you go to do the actual install you will be ready. I agree using such a system should be an option. By default at install none of the list of available apps are selected, but in addition to the option of selecting all the apps, a pull down box to select a predefined profile would be a convenience. Cheers and Regards

Still would be nice to see your current autounattend.xml, if you wouldn't mind and you have a chance. Thanks in advance. Cheers and Regards -
[SOLVED] Howto unattend (edition, destination) - add domain join
bphlpt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit
You should probably post a new copy of your current autounattend.xml if you would like any comments or help with it, or even if you just want to share a good working example. Cheers and Regards -
I agree it might be "best practice" to not have any spaces in any path, but most recent OS and apps are programmed to correctly handle spaces in paths. So if the user really wants to have spaces, they should probably be allowed, or if not, at least be consistent and change them all. The only place I know of that spaces are still very rarely handled correctly, if at all, is if you try to have spaces in an IP address, which is why those are usually converted to "%20". Cheers and Regards

I guess the video keeps getting deleted to try and keep other kids from being idiots and copying the behavior and doing such stupid, dangerous, and probably illegal pranks. Damaging the store's goods, causing a mess, and possibly causing completely innocent people to slip and fall and get hurt should definitely NOT be encouraged. It's essentially public vandalism, and all just for a goof. I guess some might find it amusing, since it looks like it belongs on "JAckAss IV", or whatever they're up to by now, but it really is just immature and dumb. Cheers and Regards

If you had started out saying that you would like both options, instead of only via Win Toolkit, I think you would have gotten a different reaction from ricktendo. Cheers and Regards

Getting started extravaganza - Documented
bphlpt replied to MeltManBob's topic in Win Toolkit Guides
Unless you are in the Samoa time zone, why don't you just leave that update out completely, at least for now. Go ahead and proceed with the next step in your build plan. You can always just use Windows Update on your running system to add that one update later. In the meantime, someone else might post a solution for you. Cheers and Regards -
No, sorry. Cheers and Regards

Option to disable prerequisites in AIO for advanced users
bphlpt replied to RicaNeaga's topic in OLD Threads
I would think that this is indeed the "correct" order that Win Toolkit should always use when integrating updates. I think any other order risks error. Cheers and Regards -
I also think this would be a great addition to Win Toolkit. As far as it being an external tool rather than "improving" Win Toolkit and/or having Komm make changes on his server so that Win Toolkit could have direct access, I view Win Toolkit using KUC as no different than Win Toolkit using DISM. In both cases it's a matter of Win Toolkit taking advantage of and using an existing external tool that has already been developed for its specific purpose. It has nothing at all to do with being a fan or supporter of Liam, Win Toolkit, Komm, or KUC, of which I am for all of them. And the use of KUC doesn't have to be default behavior for Win Toolkit, it could be an option. Komm can still make modifications similar to what McRip did so that Win Toolkit can have access to the downloads. This does not have to be an either/or. Why can't it be both? So, sorry RicaNeaga, I agree with both ricktendo and compstuff, and think adding the ability to use KUC would be a good addition to Win Toolkit. I just don't see anything bad about it. Cheers and Regards

Many Thanks to Liam indeed. And also to the various participants on this forum who graciously give of their free time and experience to help others. Liam wouldn't be able to do it by himself. Cheers and Regards

Installation of Windows 7 over Network Boot PXE
bphlpt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit Guides
Thanks for mentioning that crashfly. I just found out my current router supports dd-wrt, my old one didn't. Would you mind please looking at the tutorials listed and pointing me to the appropriate one(s)? None of them jump out at me. Thanks in advance for the help. Cheers and Regards -
From what I understand, there have been times over the last few days that McRip's server has been down, so that might have contributed to at least some of the 404's you received. Cheers and Regards

Sandisk Extreme 3.0 32GB can't go on at install destination?
bphlpt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit
Maybe so, but WOW those are expensive! US$150 and up from what I found. But I guess that's because it, and the others like it listed in the SanDisk quote that x23piracy referenced, are more or less SSD drives repackaged in USB key format. Cheers and Regards -

Installation of Windows 7 over Network Boot PXE
bphlpt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit Guides
I'm very glad to have this explanation, so please continue and finish your tutorial, but I also was hoping for a way this could be done without a server type OS being installed. I guess that shows my naivety. Thank you very much for this info anyway. heers and Regards -
Sandisk Extreme 3.0 32GB can't go on at install destination?
bphlpt replied to x23piracy's topic in Win Toolkit
Even though you weren't talking about that, I don't know why it wouldn't work. I've reformatted them before, Fat32 and NTFS. OK, I went looking for references. Yes you can do it, but it seems it is not as easy to do as I thought, at least for everyone. Some folks say the standard built-in Windows 7 tools do it automatically, some say they don't. I still haven't tried it, since I don't have a USB stick available to partition at the moment. Some references say that that you need to flip the USB removable bit so that Windows will see the stick as a fixed drive before you can partition it. I also found two different tutorials or how to partition a USB stick here and here. So, yes, one way or another it can be done. Cheers and Regards -
I wish Komm would fix his site like that also, instead of only having his tool be able to access it. Maybe McRip can share his method with Komm? Hopefully someone with access to McRip will suggest that to him? Cheers and Regards
