  1. So, does anyone have any idea why sp0iledbrat's driver did not integrate? Cheers and Regards
  2. Yes, this is correct behavior. The files are not actually integrated into the build image. It happens to the actual OS at install time. Cheers and Regards
  3. I knew that, but this threw me: I guess the question should be exactly which updates are showing up in the "windows updates thingy"? Cheers and Regards
  4. Sometimes a driver is provided to be able to access a monitor's unique, special features, but the driver is very rarely truly "needed". Cheers and Regards
  5. Yes. .NET 3.5.1 is separate from .NET 4.5. .NET 4.5 replaces .NET 4.0, but not any of the other versions of .NET. Cheers and Regards
  6. Yes I could post an older version, but Lego specifically said he would rather we didn't. Since June 1, 2012 there have been MANY versions of Win Toolkit released: There have been 56 official releases. (I have 37 of them - they were sometimes updated so rapidly I couldn't keep up) And this does not count all the Test releases - I have 21 of them and I know I missed some - nor does it count the 38 versions of the 1.5 series released in the last six weeks - I only have 14 of those, again I couldn't keep up. And this has all been in the last six months! And only over five months for the 1.4 series since it has not been updated since October 20. And yet I don't remember anyone ever saying that they had the problem you are describing with any of them. If anyone else was having your problem, or Lego agrees that there were any changes that had anything to do with .NET to justify trying an older version, or Lego gives specific authorization for me to make those versions available to you, or you could give a specific date that you know it worked and I could give you a link to a single version that was available at that time, or ... Bottom line I would feel more comfortable if you could please provide additional info and justification besides "It's not working now and I know a previous version used to work sometime in the past." Also, IF an older version was provided, they all had errors or shortcomings of some kind, or else they wouldn't have been updated, so it might not do you any good besides proving that there is or is not an issue with the later versions that is making itself known for some reason in your system. Cheers and Regards EDIT: LOL We cross posted. I'm glad you solved your problem. That it wasn't anything to do with Win Toolkit is only a minor part of the reason I'm glad. I guess when you said: those "Other programs" must not have needed .NET 3.5. EDIT 2: Now that you mentioned this, I think this was something that Lego did change a while back. I believe earlier versions only required .NET 2.0. Perhaps Lego could add a check for .NET 3.5 and display a better error message if it's missing than "Stopped working". I'm sorry it took this long to get resolved, but thank you for bringing it to our attention in case others have this same problem.
  7. Older than what? There are probably several of us that have older versions, but... Which version is the last one that worked for you? For so many of the later versions to be broken for you, and only you it seems, it is probably NOT Win Toolkit, but rather something else on your end, either in the software or OS you are using, or the way you are using them, or something else that is running at the same time, or ... Cheers and Regards
  8. Here you go - http://www.mediafire.com/?jr1iha8c1k72eh6 - I have NOT tried this, only downloaded it, so please post how it works for you. Cheers and Regards
  9. Your "host" OS where you are trying to run Win Toolkit, Win 7 x64, is it modified in any way, or is it "straight from MS"? Did you check the MD5 of your Win Toolkit to see if it got damaged? Cheers and Regards
  10. I think what blancfam is saying is that he obviously has done something wrong when he tried to build his FRA OnePiece Windows XP UpdatePack. He is comparing the results of building with the FRA version vs building with ENU OnePiece Windows XP UpdatePack, in separate attempts, only one of them is used in each build. He thought he had built his FRA version the same way as the ENU version, but something messed up since the ENU version works and the FRA version has files missing from the i386 folder and most of the addons are not installed. He's hoping the error message from the setupapi.log will give you a clue as to what he might have missed. Is there another log file that is created during the build process that might help you identify the problem? Or could he upload his FRA UpdatePack for you to take a look at? Any other suggestions that might help him out? Cheers and Regards

    Hello

Hey, at least he's honest and up front about it. LOL Cheers and Regards
  12. Go here - http://wincert.net/leli55PK/Testing/ - for the latest version of v1.5. Cheers and Regards
  13. Request filled
  14. If your system is not having any issues, then I don't think it's important, or necessary, at all. But if you are having troubles adding some updates, then according to this source: You can install it at system build/install, or it would probably be just fine to go ahead and download it and store it where you can get access to it if you need it, but only install and run it if you start having problems installing updates. But that's just my opinion. Cheers and Regards
  15. That's not the "GodMode" that I've always heard about. I've heard about the one that Mr_Smartepants mentioned. (And I still thought that there was a tweak in Win Toolkit to enable that.) The one that allows you to have easy access in Win7 to all the various control settings in one place. See here, here, and here among many, many links that say that this is called "GodMode". Those are just the first three links given to a Google search for "GodMode", without the quotes. If RT7 has co-opted the term GodMode to mean something else this is the first I have heard of it. Cheers and Regards
  16. For the transcend, I assume you mean this one? That looks pretty rugged which would be a plus. The thing Rick is talking about is pictured here, though the article is about their 2TB model you'll get the idea. Not counting the difference, supposedly, in the ruggedness aspects of the Transcend, I'm not sure if having the USB adapter as part of the drive is that big an issue. It should only have an impact if the adapter is what fails, right? I guess if the drive fails and you really HAVE to get the data off it and you then have to send it off somewhere to do that then they might charge you more for that, I don't know. But those services are really expensive to start with so I tend to go with Rick's suggestion, and yours, of multiple backups when it's important. I personally like the larger drives like the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex Desk 3TB USB 3.0, I have two of them. I've seen them as low as $139. That particular one is discontinued now, but I think you can still find new ones on ebay. There are also similar ones from different manufacturers including WD, the MyBook series I think. Cheers and Regards
  17. I could have sworn that this was available as a tweak, but looking quickly just now I didn't see it. I'm sure if it had been a snake it would have bit me. LOL Perhaps some kind soul will enlighten us? Cheers and Regards
  18. So the edits for Regedit and TaskMgr are obsolete, and this thread now only applies to Outlook (And Vista's TaskMgr)? Cheers and Regards
  19. Isn't it already there? ie "Enable 64bit recovery mode". Cheers and Regards
  20. Kel, Kel, Kel. You know good and well that no one reads the instructions, help file, FAQ, or manual. That's so old school. You are showing your age my friend. (From one dinosaur to another.) LOL j/k Cheers and Regards
  21. I agree with the move, but each sentence on its own line? No so much. But that's my personal opinion. Cheers and Regards
  22. @Makr0sha.man0b, the main point I think you missed: What source did you start with - exactly? What is your OS/VM you used to do the work with - exactly? Were ANY anti-virus running while the build was occurring, and if so which ones - exactly? What did you do - exactly? How did you do it - exactly? What tools did you use to do each step - exactly? What were the results - exactly? Attach links to all appropriate logs that were generated, last_session.ini files, etc. Cheers and Regards
  23. The install pending simply means that the installs will happen as the OS is actually installed. Cheers and Regards
  24. This is NOT a good idea. Besides Start8, you might want to check out other options listed here Cheers and Regards
  25. I think you are talking about the first possibility I mentioned, but I think he is talking about the second. (See my edited post) But we won't know for sure until he responds. Cheers and Regards
