The installers for .Net 4 he's talking about include the updates for it. The updates for the other ,Net frameworks, 2, 3, 3.5, are included with all the rest of the regular Windows updates since they are an integral part of the OS now (Win7). The installer he prefers, from n0ak, is good but if you'll read down further in that same thread, you'll find mention of another one I prefer from Troubada, along with a discussion between the two of them and even links to a tutorial so that you can "roll your own" if you so choose. I've always found that doing any kind of build, regardless of what tool you use to do it, goes much quicker and more reliably with anti-malware tools temporarily disabled. I don't think it's easily possible, if at all, if it is please relocate this post to a request thread, but it's a shame you can't provide an option to temporarily disable the anti-malware for the user automatically. If nothing else, perhaps a popup at build start suggesting the user do that, and another one at the end reminding them to turn it back on? Cheers and Regards

The secret is to NOT change boot order, permanently, in the first place. Leave it to boot from C:\ as usual. When you want to install from USB, at the very beginning of the process, do whatever your BIOS option is for you to TEMPORARILY boot from USB, ie just that one time only, Then once it gets going you can leave it alone unattended, because subsequent boots will be back from C:\ so installation will continue and the USB will still be available for post installation stuff. I'm going to take a guess that he means the ,NET Verification Tool available at Aaron Stebner's WebLog - http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/10/13/8999004.aspx. If so, no disrespect meant YumeYao, but this isn't just some 3rd-party app. Aaron is recognized as one of the go to guys about any and all things .NET, who works for MS and so isn't an outsider. For 4.0, troubada offers an installer that works for both x86 and x64 - http://www.mediafire.com/?xy7v401df2k7zc2, and n0ak does for x64 only. I would think that if some programs expect temp files or whatever to be in a particular location, the solution would be to use a hard link so that the program thinks it is where it wants it, but actually it is where YOU want it. Cheers and Regards

I believe the the order of installation of addons during install is alphabetical. So you should be able to adjust the installation sequence through renaming by simply prefacing the name with either a number or letter or special character such as "_" or "!" to adjust the order to what you need. Since Windows 7 Toolkit would have to know all the intricate program interactions in order to do this for you automatically, I don't see how this step can be done in any way but by hand after experimentation to verify the necessary order for your particular situation. Kel has used a guide which started out over on MDL, and was then posted over at Ryan's by user_hidden to create an AIO with x64 recovery options (with x86 as well?). http://www.ryanvm.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=8993 Kel suggested using Win7Toolkit in place of some of the steps, and I thought that maybe it would be possible to enhance Win7Toolkit to actually replicate the result all on its own? The Toolkit already can do so much, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask. It would seem to be a useful addition. Cheers and Regards
