[Slim] .NET Framework 4 Full x86/x64 (1-10-2016)
bphlpt replied to ricktendo's topic in Installer Repacks
AFAIK, it is not that this pack is not compatible with Vista and later, I think it would install just fine, it's just that the 4.5.2 version completely supersedes and replaces it, making the 4.0 version unnecessary if you are going to install 4.5.2. So, yes, I think you should just install 4.5.2 if running Vista or later. On the other hand, for XP version 4.0 is the latest version of .NET that will install and function correctly. Cheers and Regards -
I'm headed out for a couple of hours, but I can test it later this afternoon. Let me know what I need to do - by PM if appropriate. Cheers and Regards

You can make your own using this - DXCB - DirectX file Collector and addon Builder - and you can leave out anything you don't want/need. Cheers and Regards

Is this an XP installation that has been working for you for awhile and now is doing funny things? If not, is the XP source you used to install your OS an untouched valid source, or did you remove anything at all from it, using nLite or something? Cheers and Regards

Do I really have to integrate updates to all images? (Win Toolkit + Win 7)
bphlpt replied to Psy-Virus's topic in Win Toolkit
Lego's response above was what I was referring to. The difference in the number of updates you mentioned is mainly due to the addition of "request only" updates, or hotfix's, which are not distributed through Windows Update. Some people want them, others just want an empty response from WU/MU. Cheers and Regards- 11 replies

Do I really have to integrate updates to all images? (Win Toolkit + Win 7)
bphlpt replied to Psy-Virus's topic in Win Toolkit
If you are only updating one image so that you can install that image, then that's the only image you have to update. If you need to maintain multiple computers that need different versions of the OS, then, as of now, you have to update all the different images you are going to need. There is a way to only update a single image, the "lowest" one you will need, and then copy and promote that image to the other versions required. A request has been made to add this capability to Win Toolkit, but this feature has not been added yet. Cheers and Regards- 11 replies

Is it at all possible that it is just severely clogged? If you are comfortable doing so, I would suggest trying to take the laptop as far apart as you can and try to clean out any "dust bunnys" that you might find, Then take a can of compressed air and thoroughly blow out every nook and cranny. Then see if you can make the fan move at all either using the compressed air or your finger, if it is such that you can reach it, You can check out this guide for specifically cleaning the fan - L305-s5968 Laptop Fan & Heatsink Installation Replacement Guide. If the fan really is shot, you can get a replacement fairly inexpensively, probably less than US $30 - IPARTS CPU Cooling Fan for Toshiba Satellite L305-S5968. So if the laptop's capability meets your needs, then it seems cleaning and replacing the fan if necessary should be significantly cheaper than buying a new laptop. But if the laptop doesn't meet your needs, ... Cheers and Regards

Just to be clear, I do not see a problem with distributing an installer for a commercial or shareware app that allows the user to insert their own license key that they have legally acquired. Just as long as the installer is built using code that is freely available from the original app developer, the original app developer does not specifically prohibit such distribution, and no license key is distributed with the installer. Without a key being provided, the installer should be constructed so that the app reverts to trial mode. I see that as providing a service for our members here that does not infringe upon the rights of the app developer. But that's just my opinion. Cheers and Regards

How does this compare with the other tools out there that do USB Prep? Does this do anything the others don't? Is it missing anything, even if it's something not usually needed? I definitely understand the value and convenience of having the capability built in to Win Toolkit, and am all for of that, but I'm just curious. Cheers and Regards

Great idea, Liam. Cheers and Regards

It better not be. At WinCert we only support, promote, distribute, and encourage free, (preferably), or trial versions of apps. Distribution of "activated" or registered versions of commercial or shareware apps are considered to be warez, and we do not support that here. Or did I misunderstand you? Cheers and Regards

[ERROR] File corrupted when trying to combine WTK with RT7
bphlpt replied to Romulo Carlos Reis Alves's topic in Win Toolkit
I don't want to encourage the use of an outdated tool such as RT7Lite in any way whatsoever, but I am curious what changed in Win Toolkit if indeed it is true that version 1.4.0.44 was able to work with RT7Lite with no errors while working with the current version has issues. Cheers and Regards -

Oh. heheh. LOL Sorry. I guess it doesn't look all that different to the way the forum looks to me now. Maybe because I'm color-blind? But that's in red and green and the major forum color in both instances is blue. I mean the forum logo is different and the current main forum page has the side-bar, and the things are arranged a little bit differently, but to me it at least looks like the two are related. I do like the old look, maybe even a little bit better than the current one. But the WinCert look has always been clean and simple and that's one of the things I've always liked about it. Cheers and Regards

You mean your old avatar? Yeah, I was there. I had forgotten it, but that was it, wasn't it? Cheers and Regards

LOL I know. Do you think that might be a subtle hint to use a different tool? Cheers and Regards -

This is a RT7Lite issue. Please ask your question in their forum. Cheers and Regards -
